Toyota Yaris JDM but not Fits?

hey guys,

so i know that the USDM fits' front are longer than the oversea ones..due to our crash regulation.

but what i found amusing is that the yaris is made in japan as well and shipping from japan...but it looks almost identical to the japanese counterpart to me. The front end of the yaris is MUCH MUCH shorter than our GE fits...so what gives? why can't we get the JDM front end?

just my thoughts. anyone else?

toyota was smart and made a common ugly bumper for their car, that's all.

The Yaris is JDM, it is also a death trap. Watch the NHTSA video of the Yaris vs Camry and then decide if a JDM front is a good idea. The Yaris drivers head bounces off the hood of the Camry in a 40 MPH offset frontal collision. I'll keep my long ugly Fit nose thank you.

I happen to be a Yaris owner and even though the Yaris is JDM, the front bumper is not. Yaris owners are in the same boat. NO body kits or lips fit w/o the JDM front crash bar and/or a JDM bumper. Like you said grtpumpkin, the car is a death trap... so why do Yaris owners get stuck with a USDM front? The cars is not a deathtrap, but it will total in a heartbeat. I'd choose safety over style any day of the week, but just buy a JDM front if you really want on.
