Got the XB

Well i got the used girl aka XB over the weekend it's a 2006 AT with 36k miles. Now she is really dirty will take me a couple of weeks to get her where i would consider it clean. She is alot cleaner today than when i bought it but still needs alot of work and i will take some better pics once she is up to par. She has a ton more scratches on her today now that i gave it a quick bath and interior needs a shampoo. But i love it so far great over all car much like that Fit but with more comfort room. I got it for $8.3k i put $2k of that down in cash. So i got a loan for $6.3k let me know what every one thinks. I still have the Fit this is to more replace my 91 previa thats still in the shop. Right now i just want to get it cleaned up. Than i got to get a fog light cover it was missing and some floor mats. Than think about geting it painted.

My ex had an Echo - I remember thinking it seemed like a really good chassis, engine, and transmission, with a really crappy car mounted on all of that. The XB really impressed me with how much better a car it was overall. I almost bought one, but ended up with an Element instead (factory cruise, more cargo space, and gas was only $2/gallon at the time)

Looks pretty good! Is she a stick or an auto? I like that color a lot. I would trade out the clear tails though, not my cup o tea. And the wheels are a plus as well. Good price for a great car with low miles, well bought my friend!

Side note, I saw the trees in the background and thought "Holy CRAP that looks like the panhandle." Then I looked at your location.

/originally from Tallahassee

I remember the xB having a really choppy ride when I test drove it, but with Florida's smooth roads, that shouldn't be a big issue.

Oh i forgot to add that it is a AT. I wanted a MT one but could not find one for the same deal as this. So i figured why not it is still fun to drive. Yea i feel you on the tails i told my girl that is the first thing to go when i start to really mod it. Than i wanted some Hids in it. I think the tails look ricer. Oh also i looked at the elments would have been great with the dog and every thing but what killed it was the MPG. And they are pricey used around me as well. Its not bad on the roads has some road noise like the Fit but rides smooth over here. Funny i moved here from San Diego about 2 years ago. Over all i am happy just wished there was not so many scratches in it. Down the road i might just have to get a new paint job on it for cheap. There is even marks that go through the clear coat on the hood. Looks like tree sap that sat way to long. I dont think the guy ever really cleaned. He said it just sat there most of the time he rarely ever drove it but dam how does the paint get so F$$ked up than LOL

A talented detailer can fix anything that doesn't go to bare metal, would be money well spent on such a low mileage car. I'm sure you could get some standard red tails from a salvage yard near you for cheap. I keep thinking of the 2nd gen Xb they used in that Mobil 1 add with the RWD Tundra V8 swap LOL

I may have my old foglight covers still. but they're camo green if your interested.

You can take the covers off the taillights and paint the inside red definitely changes the look up!

Thanks guys yea it seems to me there is less cargo use room in it for big things. But alot more room for people than the Fit. I got it alot cleaner but im taking it to get a real detail to get it where i want it.

Congrats! I always liked that car. Each time I traveled to U.S. and saw one I was watching it and complaining that in Argentina is not for sale.

Congrats!

Good luck with the box, expect more windshields to be replaced, it's part of owning one of these...

And those are the standard taillights, those aren't aftermarket. The aftermarket ones are the red ones...

And the front end being chipped up, that's kinda normal too - you're pushing a brick wall through the air, it's bound to show some damage.

Yea i wanted another Fit in VBP or the purple. Funny i wanted the pruple more because i wanted to put the J's lip on it keep the stock grill lower it with some Mugen Nr wheels in white. I think that would be game over. But the fact that i could not find a used fit for around $10k or less made me opt for the XB. I found some fits but they were all the way in CA. I'm happy with her first tank i got 31MPG but i would have loved it if i could have goten the purple fit instead. But oh well these are good cars and i plan on drving this one till the wheels fall off hopefully about 8-10 more years or around 200k than get something else this time i will buy in cash seeing i will pay this off by next year as well as almost paying of my Fit

I had an Element for three years, with a similarly raked windshield. I put a hood visor on there and never had a windshield replaced.
