Um I assume you know that the rsx was a honda/acura not a toyota right? I agree that the TC is a crap car but I don't think Scion getting this will be terrible. Toyota is a snooze fest. I feel like if toyota did make this car it would be even more boring and slow. I am ok with a sporty looking car that isn't super fast like a civic coupe or the rsx. What I am not ok with is a car, that should be the rightful replacement to the supra which was an amazing car, be slow and boring.

Hell why not yank out the engine from the IS-F and drop it in this thing? Sure it won't be $25K new but even if it is $35-40k it will sell and you would have a monster of a car.

I believe this is supposed to be the spiritual successor to the Celica not the Supra?

The projected weight is under 2500 lbs and it will have a 4 banger. I don't see any similarity to a Supra...or a 370z or a Genesis coupe or any other car it's been compared to in this thread (except the RSX ironically...LOL).

I realize the RSX is FWD. I'm referring to likely price, weight, and hp.

wasn't celica and supra at one time the same car (chassis) and was considered a coupe of the corolla? i dont know the history of these cars too well (im not a toyota fan) but i saw like the AE86's when they were new way back when.

"Spiritual succesor to the AE86".

If they can keep it under 2500 lbs and make it rev to 7-7.5K, and keep it around $20k i'll think about getting one after the Fit's paid off.

I am 90% sure it's going to feel like a RWD TC and have no soul. I pray this is not true.

Haha yeah, even the 80's... I perfer my cars with ashtrays, cigarette lighters, carbs, and to smell like gas after you start it in the morning and if I didn't have to grow up and be an adult i'd be driving one right now.

I miss my toy.

Toyota's been out of the perf game for some time now, its going to be interesting to see how it turns out, good thing they got Subie to help them out, kinda strange how competitors helped each other out here. I say its got the makings of a great little car, good things are coming in the next couple years for sure!
