My 85 AE86 Levin!

Just some pics for viewing pleasure!

Its an Aug 85 build Levin. Imported to canada back in 07 and Im the second owner over here.

Its a bigport bluetop boosted with a t25 turbo on oem management (Last owner did this setup... I somewhat refined the ghettoness to get me through this summers drifting season...)

Runs 4-5 Psi of boost MAX before the stock ecu doesnt like life and cuts fuel. It has cam gears that I have tweaked so I only make 3-4 psi but moved what little power i have away from redline and down a tad.

Basic mods are coilovers, sway bars, welded diff.

I have a friend with a s14 chassis and a 350whp sr20 that wants to trade me... Debating it :/

PICS!

Annd I dont know if you guys can watch this video but this is me at the track having fun. Well trying to drag the wall and on my way back i snapped it to hard. Decided limiter in 1st would be best way to get my revenge on the plastic barrier.

Pics/specs on your friend's S14? Dependent on mods it could be worthwhile.

Its a stripped chassis with a kouki front end. Shitty tub job on the front (not quite high enough) rear fenders are already cut and ready for over fenders. Solid bushings for the rear subframe ugggghhhh what else. Has a painless wiring kit in it. Ummm yeah. The shell is a shell. It has no rust. pretty sure id get a brand new set of BC coilovers with it too.

The real deal is the engine. Blacktop 13 sr. Stock bottom end. Has a head with cams, springs, retainers, all that top end stuff. arp studs on the head I think. Greddy knockoff intake manifold, 1 off equal length tubular turbo mani with v band to turbo. GT2871 turbo @ 18 psi dyno'd 352 whp and 300 tq. Also has a haltech ecu.

I know what the engine is worth because my room mate built it and sold it to my other friend.

I REALLLLLY love my corolla but I thought id put up a feeler for it today before I go balls deep into it this winter with my wallet.

Call the cops.

Robbery in progress.

S14 has no soul, you will hate yourself. That Corolla has more soul in it's rusted quarter panels than the entirety of that dirty Nissan.

If you don't hate yourself, I will hate you for you hahahaha

That S14 sounds kind of lame. I'm not a fan of Levins, coupes or boosted 4AG but I'd still keep this one over that haha

The S14 is a great LOOKING car, but it's not the same ye-olde-Japanese-sports-car look. The Corolla is for people who really care about driving. I haven't driven any of em; but that's my opinion.

is the S14 fun to drive?

Well we shook hands on the trade...

Im trading my corolla and a few sets of 14's + $1000 for a s14 that has brand new coilovers, and 350whp. Just have to reassemble it all haha

And to answer your question about driving the s14 does win...

TBH I love AE86's to death. But when it comes down to building a drift car/something thats stupid fun and thinking about the $$$ to hp/ chassis capability you cant really win vs a S-chassis.

The corolla this year even boosted had little power, and to get steering angle mods isnt as easy as a S-chassis car.

And in reality the weight difference isnt that huge. Im getting a completely stripped S-14 that will weighs practically nothing.

Also the reason the deal is worth while is the engine. I could do this trade, sell the chassis/rolling stuff for 2000, and end up with $1000 and a wicked sweet engine. Hell the standalone ECU is worth $1000+ and I've seen the receipt for the turbo and it was $1500 lol.

This all happened kinda quick but Im happy. Next year and if I decide to pull up my pants on this car this winter I could have it driving lol

Oh also, like our Hooptie Life page! ;D https://www.facebook.com/HooptieLife

And the engine in the S14 has soul... Lots of soul haha it destroyed a garage with a huuuuge burnout. Which in turn made the house smell of rubber for months XD

Oh and the corolla isnt going to a random person. Its staying in the "Hooptie Life" family.

4 Months? Should be plenty of snow on the ground by then and as long as Im good with my money I could have the S14 in one piece by then (needs a clutch/ebrake gotta box and lengthen the control arms and a few other small bits) and we can go winter drifting!

And yeah its not like the corolla is going anywhere far. >.>

Probably going to bang doors with it this winter if my friend wants to winter drive it.
