Definitely! I have a MityVac too so I didn't even need to get under the car at all to change the oil. It was great.

I know I'll end up with an older BMW or two in the stable again but I'd prefer it as a "fun" car this time around...they were all pretty reliable but lots of little quirks to always be worrying about for the amount of driving I do.

I got rid of my 318ic have a 95 Miata NA to modify never run out of aftermarket parts plus the car was inexpensive to buy. In the Northeast always can find low mileage Miatas.

Are you counting only vehicles owned for over a year?

1990 civic - sold with 340k
1988 crx - sold turbo'd with 250k
1993 del sol - sold with 190k
1994 isuzu rodeo - sold with 145k
1998 civic - sold with 225k miles
1992 toyota camry - still own, 170k on the gauges...

If you include all my vehicles I actually took the time to register and title, the list os over 25, at least one of each year civic and crx from 1988 to 2000, 3 del sols, 2 toyota pickups, 1 nissan pickup, the rodeo v6 manual, 1 corolla, 2 other camrys, and others I am forgetting

Bottom line, you get good at fixing cars and trucks, you can afford the amazingly cheap deals of broken or noisy ones owners sell for dirt cheap, fix up, and sell for profit. sometimes it was only $200 profit overall, sometimes it was $2900!!

My first car was a used 1970 something Pontiac Sunbird station wagon with fake wood paneling which I had for about a month until my friend smashed it into a wall, then a used powder blue 1972 Mercury Montego which was a terrible car, then a brown 1987 Chevy Cavalier I bought for $800 and lasted me for around 7 years and 90k miles without a problem (my most trouble free car) then a white 1989 Chevy Caprice (my favorite car although not perfect) and then a black 2001 Volkswagen Jetta I bought brand new which was a terribly unreliable car that I hated.
