Spotted this Acura yesterday, I had never seen or heard of the Acura SLX prior to this so had to dig up some info. Apparently based on the Isuzu Trooper and sold very poorly in the US, which was it's only market worldwide. Was available for four years for whatever reason, but I guess they're doing the same with the Accord Crosstour, so who knows lol

^Yes, a strange partnership I assume was made because Honda didn't have the tooling to make their own utility vehicles and trucks then?
Isuzu Impulse is a strange favorite of mine, an auto classmate of mine had one and I loved that thing for some reason lol I rarely see them.
Strange little company.

2. ".. for some reason?" I'm sure we can come up with the reason if we try. hehe. It's related to #1 above, and also related to the fact that Isuzu no longer sells in the US market. Their cars were just c
Even if you liked the Impulse, which is fine. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. :) Plus the Impulse might actually be a legitimate future classic. "The Impulse is considered today to be one of the rarest 80's/90's era automobiles." (Wiki)

I assumed incorrectly all Impulses were turbo AWD. I suppose that makes the example I ended up taking a liking to is even more rare hahaha
Interesting to know GM owned 50% of Isuzu at that time, which would explain the Geo Storm and Impulse connection.
What's up with the Geo Prizm, Chevy Nova and Toyota Corolla connection? GM couldn't make decent 4 cyl so they turned overseas?
Also, why do Lotus Espirit use Corolla tail lights?

And with a 3.1L GM engine no less until they're own Isuzu engine was ready to go...
Saab put out a rebadged Subaru Impreza WRX wagon for a while too.

The Saturns and Prizms were being made at the NUMMI plant in Fremont, right along side the pickups and Corollas at the time IIRC.

I guess they don't qualify as Future Classics by Top Gear's standards, though.

I drive past that plant every day, I had no idea that the Tesla plant was one and the same. Thanks Subie for starting the info path.

I recently saw an original Saab FWD V4 car from the 70s
Not too often you see an original V4 with its twin intakes and everything numbers matching!
Dont know the name. mod or late 70s, 2 door small car, hideaway lights, this one was tan interior and blue paint. Hood hinges up front, not near windshield
EDIT kinda like this

That's it! hahaha I remember seeing this movie on TV when I was a youngster i'll watch it again.
Never even knew this existed, cool for sure.
I actually saw one of these the other day as well in awesome shape. There was also one for sale on CL I was eyeballing. I think it's a very INTERESTING car, whether or not it "looks good" is debatable, but I think it does. The windows alone are a conversation piece haha

There is a lightly modded MK III I occasionally see in the lot at work. Not badged as a turbo, but who knows:
Compat... LOL
I don't know the year exactly but know its not a 91-92 (changed to the "modern" Toyota oval that year.)
Ever since a 2.5GT JZA70 was my first car in Grand Turismo 1-4... I have wanted a clean one of these! Just have to do a 1JZ swap LOL
