Zender has made a fulminating return this month at IAA with the Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale.
The German tuner went bust in 2008 but now they are back in action with a comprehensive kit for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Presented at Frankfurt Motor Show in concept form, the Corsa Stradale has a very aggressive body kit and rides on 18-inch alloys shod in Pirelli P Zero Black performance tires measuring 215/35 ZR 18. Also part of the package are a lowered adjustable sports suspension and a customized interior cabin with stainless steel pedals, illuminated door sill strips and custom sport seats.
The most significant changes are in the engine department where the 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine has received an additional 76 bhp (57 kW) over the regular Abarth 500 so it now churns an impressive 236 bhp (176 kW) and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm) of torque. This was possible by installing a larger turbocharger, tweaking the fuel injection with a bigger fuel pressure regulator and also by updating the engine management.
Other changes include modified camshafts and pistons along with a stainless steel exhaust which have helped Zender shave off 0.7s from the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time so now the car can run the sprint in 6.5 seconds before topping out at 144 mph (232 km/h).

Well yeah for that much power in such a small car I'd expect better numbers. Then again we know some FF.net guys that best the advertised 0-60 of the Fit so who knows...

I still wouldn't kick that car out of bed though.
