I walk the four miles round trip to my local public library every so often.

Every time I tell someone I'll do something when I get home from the library they're always aghast I chose to spend my time walking when I could've saved 30 minutes by driving.

Not the short answer, the only answer. Too many people chasing too few resources. I'm actually amazed and appalled that we still are using oil/coal in the year 2018. But since we like to learn the hard way, just wait till sea level rise decimates the 1 billion currently living at the coast. If that won't get our numbers down, the disease from over 1.5 billion humans currently drinking poop water or ingesting fish inundated with plastic beads will. Ignorance won't make it all better or make it go away.
