yah, i suppose. not a fan of those cars though. i think mazda makes better suv's vs sedans. cx5 i drove felt a lot better.

speaking of long range, altima had crazy range. near 700miles at full tank. lol

The Mazda 3 or 6 are $17,000+ . The Accent was less than $15,000 . Do like the style of the Mazdas .

Thanks . We like low car payments . Easier on the bank account . Gas mileage a + too . Second tank calculated 40.78 m.p.g.. Set tires to 35 > 36 . Were less than 31 thanks to cold weather . Averaging 42.165 m.p.g. for 2 tanks .

I had an '88 Hyundai (Excel - I think that was the only model they had, at the time). Everyone laughed at it, but I drove it for 12 years and 160K miles -- and when I got rid of it, it wasn't because it was all done (although it was pretty used up), but I was moving from IL to AZ and decided a 4-speed manual wasn't going to be a great car for highways where the speed limit is 75 (so you're pretty much going 85 most of the time).

It had the best sight lines of any car I've ever had -- much better than the Fit, no blind spots, annoying A-pillar, or any of that -- excellent ergos (best dead pedal ever), well designed split rear seat (no problem carrying a string bass or tuba), and it was very easy to work on. Almost nothing went wrong with it, and when it did, repairs tended not to be expensive. Phenomenal in snow -- no 2WD car I've ever driven was as good.

Cons: boring to drive. Well, yes -- what do you expect for the cheapest non-Yugo car you could buy new in 1987?

All in all, it was no Fit -- but it was excellent transportation and value.

Urb
