JCrim, I don't post enough in here but I'm always following this build. Can't wait to see some videos after the swap.

UPDATE:
I'm pulling my L15A out and putting the K20A type R in on the 15th of this month. That weekend. That's the plan so far. That is all.

Are you concerned how the extra weight of the K20 will affect handling? What is your plan for the suspension? Sorry if I missed it if this was discussed earlier...

So that's the knee-jerk answer...but in reality it takes more than different spring rates to neutralize a massive transfer of weight in this light chassis. One of the best ways to mitigate some of the weight penalty of the heavier engine is to extend the steering column and have the driver sit further back in the chassis to restore a 60:40 balance. Needless to say, corner-balancing with the driver in the car is a must.

JCrim, do you think the weight of the cage will help balance some of the extra weight from the k20? Has anyone performed this swap that is successfully tracking the car that you can pick their brain for suspension settings?

It looks like the GE Fit is about to get K-series mounts (and possibly J-series mounts....yeah, no shit!). I had a lengthy conversation with Brian G at Hasport yesterday and he confirmed the CRZ mount will be compatible with the Fit.

Hey man,
Yes, Ive taken all of this into account. I feel like the cage will help ballance for sure, also the lack of the complete abs and ac system should free some weight from the front. Spring rates will help the actual handling but not so much the weight transfer. I'll be honest, I can talk about this all day and read and study and plan, but at the end of the day, I (nor does anyone else) really know how its going to be. So im just going to man up and go for it. Either way, as long as I can learn to control it and relearn its geometry, what matters? Im like an ECU on learning mode. lol

really though, the weights of the 2 motors cant be that far off. especially with the lack of ac and such. I will shed as much front weight as humanly possible. J's did it, lets see what America can pull.

You should weigh the L15+tranny and the k20+tranny then you'll have a pretty good idea of the difference. If significantly different, I think extending the steering column and moving the driving position back will help restore the natural 60:40 weight distribution. Can't wait to see more updates!
