Going to do a HPDE with Speed Ventures this Sunday at Chuckwalla. I have raced Spring Mountain 3X with Porsche Club of America. They run a pretty tight ship. I am now branching out to a new track, and with a new crew. I hear Speed Ventures is a little more loose, as far as they allow passing on either side, and "near race" conditions in certain run groups. I have watched about an hour of video in the clockwise configuration (which I'm running). I was just going to do Spring Mountain again in March, then I noticed my new BC Racing DS series coilovers won't be here by then and figured I could slip this trip into the budget. I'll post results and a video after the event. I'm using Harry's Lap Timer app on my Samsung with 14MP camera. The video I shot at Spring Mountain is quite good, with it showing the segment of the track I'm on, an G-readout, as well as MPH. So later this year I should be able to race Spring Mountain and Chuckwalla again and note any improvements the coilovers make. Cheers! -d'Art
Thanks! It will be a fun day. The track looks really good for lower hp cars that are good in the turns. Longest straight is 1/4 mile, just need to nail my apexes and keep my exit speed up! I am thinking I should hit Willlow Springs and Buttonwillow this year too!
CVR is a BEAUTIFUL track! I went there for the first time, back in March, and I loved it. The facilities are also great compared to typical racetrack facilities.
