FS: 2007 Honda FIT Sport ($1,200 Under KBB Value) - $11947 (PA, NJ or NYC areas)

(NOTE. Photos Are on the Craig's List Ad: "Must Sell" 2007 Honda FIT Sport (Over $1,200 Under Blue Book Value) )

As a serious fan of the Fit, please believe I would not be selling this awesome car, if I were not moving to a major urban area where it will only be a financial burden.

Which is why I am selling it at $1,200 below the Kelly Blue Book Value of $13,285. Essentially I am just trying to unload it for the price remaining on my lien with Honda Financial Services.

This FIT's specs are:

Mileage: 35,000
Condition: Good
Engine: 4-Cyl. 1.5L VTEC
Transmission: Automatic
Drive: FWD
Equipment: Dual Front Air Bags, Front Side Air Bags, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, AM/FM Stereo, Single Compact Disc, Navigation System, ABS (4-Wheel), Rear Spoiler, Alloy Wheels
AND if you are nice, I will throw in my GPS system.

Make no mistake, this car is a deal — it's in great condition and (as you all know) supremely well rated by every major 3rd part agency. Take for example Edmunds:

Full Test: 2007 Honda Fit

If you are seriously interested, this is what we will do:

1.) We meet at the bank branch wherein you have acquired a certified bank check for the above payoff amount. The check should be made out to "Honda Finance Exchange."

2.) You watch me confirm the check's legitimacy with bank staff.

3.) I show you Honda's final statement to me and then you watch me mail your check and your address to Honda Finance Exchange.

4.) I give you the keys to the car (sans license plates) and you drive away.

5.) Eventually, the title arrives at your address via Honda and you call me to confirm everything is okay.

6.) Everyone is happy.

Pleasure doing business with you in advance.

Pricing Issues

I've been told, by a prospective buyer, that my price is too high for a 2007 FIT with 35k worth of mileage.

However, the Blue Book value (when I consulted it) begged to differ.

If anyone has some tips on how or where I should try to sell my car, I am all ears.

Matthew

I just bought a 20k mile '07 Fit Sport from a private seller here in Queens for $10,500. The back bumper is a bit scratched from parking on the street, but thats an unfortunate fact of life in the five boroughs. Aside from that its pretty much immaculate. A dealer would have bought that car, touched up the bumper and had it out on their lot for $13,500 the next day. The only Fit Sports I see on dealer lots under 12k have been hit, have salvage titles, or have very high miles, 75K+.

I think I got a good deal.

Any prospective buyer is going to tell you your price is too high. I had one loser tell me straight up that I was never going to get 2k for the '67 Mustang I had for sale. It was a 6cyl car that had some rust issues but was very restorable and it ran and drove. My asking price was $2,500. He told me with a straight face the car was worth $800 tops. Then I told him the car was already bid to $1,200 on eBay and there was no way I'd end the auction and sell the car for less than two grand. I invited him to bid on the car if he liked but I don't think he liked it that much. His complaint was that for $2k he wouldn't be able to make a profit fixing it up and selling it. Some people have nerve, like I should take less for the car so he can make a profit off of it, what a joke. The auction closed at $2,126.50 and the high bidder picked it up the next weekend and paid cash. He seemed to think he got a great deal and was very excited about the car. $800 tops my a$$.

I got my 2007 honda fit sport from a precerfieid honda dealer for 11500, 33k milage. i thought i had a pretty good deal considered the warranties they have (however small that might be), since this is my first car, i thought paying the extra 1000 above private dealer price is worth it.
