I am looking for a replacement engine for my 2007 Fit Sport A/T. The engine can be from a auto or manual trans car - preferably with less than 50k on the engine.

I am looking for one in the Southeast...maybe someone has wrecked their fit or wants some cash to do a k20 swap? I can help take out the motor if that makes a difference, it shouldn't take too long.

I am looking this route to save on shipping costs.

fyi: the Fit has a horrible (IMO) rod knock problem that has gotten worse over the past few months - it has gotten louder, drinks more oil, and sounds like an air leak after I turn the engine off (I'm guessing it's from the compression in cyl 2). I want to swap out the engine before it fails while sitting in traffic facing uphill

 

Try Ebay honda fit motors there's a bunch.

just over 50,000 miles. It's been ticking for a while but it's getting louder and louder.

note: in the video you can hear the valves but there is also a distinct knock/scrape sound you can hear that is less frequent than the normal valve tick

 

Thanks for the suggestion, found several right down the road...

 

My only question now is: what do I do with the old engine after I swap it? Scrap it? I doubt these things or parts for these things are very valuable...

what's the difference with the jdm engine? is it a direct swap for a Fit 5AT?

 

i believe its quite similar, but might be missing the usual USDM smog equipment, etc.
