New civic has a sharkfin type antenna from the factory and looks like it's only about $50 from online parts catalogs. I wonder if the connection is the same?

I had their Mark1 on my Fit 2008. Was alright, it didn't improve signal, and I want to say it slightly decreed signal when I was trying HD stations with aftermarket headunit.

I am about to buy one of these again myself, but not sure if the Mark1 will fit the 3rd gen fit's. The Mark2 says it was designed for larger antenna bases, with GPS. The 3rd gen has GPS it's just not enabled for Nav on the dash.

stembridge, is that a Mark1 I see and confirm that the Mark1 fits on your 3rd gen?

Anyone have an answer to this? I wouldn't mind replacing my antenna but not for $90.

Too funny I'd give a lot to get rid of the shark fin on my BMW, its the factory cell antenna but its way too much pain to remove it ..

Not really motivated to do it myself as I never listen to the radio. It'd just be a cosmetic upgrade and not sure if I want to pay $50. I'll wait and check junk yards in a year

Funny that's a cheap upgrade for appearance that's already pre-painted, ya'll are cheap

I got one about a year ago. Looks great, reception is at the very least on par with the factory antenna, and it was perfectly paint matched to my purple car!

I think 90 bucks for a pre-painted perfectly matched part is fair. I've taken little cosmetic pieces to body shops to color match in the past and have gotten quotes over 90 dollars for pieces that cost me half that to begin with.

Very happy with ours! Pre-painted Passion Berry Pearl works wonders.

Noticed you got the MarkII. Mind I ask for that reasoning? Like the looks, or just didnt want to risk the base not fitting inside?

Yeah, we had no idea which would be better. Went with the Mark II to be safe.

Reviving an old thread, I have one of these on my modern steel metallic 2015, it lasted two years before the paint started chipping, I contacted visual garage and they sent me another. That one last another year and the gasket started to lift off and leak. Just ordered a new gasket, it’s a nice item and adds to the look of the car however I can’t speak much for its durability.
