I just recently moved to NJ, and got my plate and registration card. But I'm not familiar with the NJ laws, the dealer did not give me anything else other than the NJ plate and a registration card. I thought I needed some kind of registration sticker on the front winshield?? The dealer said no, just keep the registration card inside the car and I don't need to stick anything on the window. Is that true?

 

I'm in NJ, when I bought my FIT I received a temporary registration, a big yellow paper that gets affixed to the rear window. Also the dealer put an inspection sticker on the front lower drivers side window, good until 2010. In about 14 days I got a call from the dealer that my plates and NJ registration were at the dealer to come and get them. Off comes the temporary registration and on go the plates, thats it.

 

thanks for the reply, so the only document you need to stick on the windshield is the inspection sticker good for four year? did the dealer stick any other sticker like a registration on the front windows?

 

No registration in the front window, the only sticker I have in the front window is the inspection sticker. The temp registration hangs in the rear window until the real one comes back from Motor Vehicles in about 14 days, thats now in my wallet . Welcome to NJ....

 

Yeah, you need only the inspection sticker on the front windshield. If you get pulled over, you need to produce your insurance and registration cards. If not, it is hundreds in fines, and if you don't have your insurance card, they are allowed to tow your car.
Also, wear your seatbelt, as you can get pulled over for it and NJ cops will give you a ticket faster than you can blink.

As already stated, you only need the inspection sticker on the front windshield. Make sure you keep the front plate on or you'll get tickets for not having it displayed properly. Seatbelts for any one in the front, no talking on cell phones unless it's handsfree, no front window tint, no loud music through main street or residential, the list goes on and on and on....

I haven't seen any other Fits on the road in NJ except for the Orange one my co-worker has yet none of the Honda dealers have them in stock.

 

so far I only seen one red Fit on staten island expressway, and that fit was flying, I couldn't catch up to it...but then again I wasn't step'n on it, but soon.....oh and I am planing on tinting all the windows, I can't never get over those half tinted looks...I guess I'll take my chances, but most cars are tinted all on all the windows anyway
