Why must we click to reply?

i'm used to just pushing "tab" and typing in reply box instead of needing to move mouse over to reply button.

Lazy? Yes.

i know. if were gonna have the quick reply, might as well eliminate that step of clicking reply. This is the only site that I am on that makews u do that.

Agreed.

Though I also think it helps prevent a lot of the useless posts that might otherwise get thrown around.

i dont think the button would prevent useless posts...if someone were to do that, they'd push the button anyways.

i think its to slow down spam bots. ive heard of some spam bots that scan forums to look for e-mail addresses and fields to input text.

i lurk a lot.....

i havent seen any spam bots on any VB forums though. i think the vbulletins have a bot against those types of bots.

Lol, quick reply takes an extra step.
