Skunk2 Racing

Skunk2 Racing has been pushing Hondas to go faster and handle better for over a decade. We've applied that experience to our latest project car the "Skunk2 Fit R". As we transformed the Fit into a beast, we developed an aftermarket arsenal for the Fit enthusiast. Our first release is the Skunk2 Lowering Spring but Keep your eyes on us for Fit exhaust, full coilovers and much more...

cams / gears?

its been asked before but . . i just want a "yes" or a "no"

is SKUNK2 going to have any plans in the future to produce a head package for this car?

valves/springs
cams/gears

we're not looking for magic, just a lil hp (12/15hp)

is skunk2 kicking around this idea?

man that would rock! I have been wondering for the longest time if any aftermarket companies would look into cams/gears etc... I sure hope someone makes some, I bet you could sqeeze a good lil bit of HP out of this engine with a mild cam...

they probably wont, so far they have said nothing, no one has, and i think by now if anyone thought it was worth doing they would have done it by now, i have searched and i know w few people have done customer piston work , but thats about it, no one is looking for glory out of that lil engine , i think a head package , and I/H/E , and honda reflash , to get it to 100 torque and 120 hp would be amazing for this lil car, but lets face it, if anyone thought it was worth doing it would have been done

According to Chikubi, Top Fuel in Japan has a package that includes head work camshaft and hks f-con. Top fuel claims 147ps at 8000 rpm. It would be great if Skunk can come out with a package that would top that.. Thats if they're willing to take the challenge.

skunk has been focussing on other things, and the developement time, testing, and product manufacturing might not be worth the money at this time, the US just got the Fit, and as eager as we all are to void the warranty , there just is no money in that lil engine yet, as there are like thousands upon thousands of B and K series, which is why they push people for those products

i have a buddy at honda that is getting the L15 block in and when he does i will go look at the valve springs and retainers, i have some buddy club springs and retainers from my old B series , i wana see the size difference, maybe measure the cam shaft

i know you can get blank cam shafts, you would just need to figure the timing and what not, long process for 10 hp but we'll see, i am looking foward to take a peek

really if yall are jonesing for 180 whp HKS has a turbo kit that is out, and prolly blow your engin up, but hey , its a turbo ,

I agee with dj buddah. Its impossible to get 180whp with a turbo kit w/o blowing up your engine. You probably have to run 14 to 16psi to get 180whp.

Hey dj buddah, pm me if you do find a tuner brave enough to make a camshaft for the fit.

Wrong! The Jackson racing super charger kit puts out 10psi and it increases horse power 70%. The new super charger is also capable of 21psi. Now I would not recommend that on a stock engine. Now with a bullet proof bottom and top end the sky's the limit. We just have to wait till companies start making low compression pistons, rods, crankshafts, etc. Hopefully we will see this in the near future. I think the L15 engine has capabilities of being a powerful engine. I seen D series single cam turbo engine's putting out 350-400hp to the wheels. Why couldn't this be posible with a L15? Seems like everyone just want's to swap in K20's in their fit. Their great engines don't get me wrong, but I like A/C in the summer plus the added weight will change how the car feels (nose diving)around turns.

Talking 1.5L Turbo

It would NOT be impossible to get 180WHP out of this engine. Skunk2 has a Fit making 220WHP 185TQ....stock internals @ 10PSI. I would say anything more than 250WHP you will start running into issues.
Weight is everything in racing, this car is light for a new car. With that kind of power to weight ratio you will have a fast sohc able to keep up if not win. IMO.

Tonyd3773, I thought the skunk fit was ~180-190 and they did custom machined internals. A big problem with this car though is hte weight distribution. Too nose heavy.

i actually emailed the guys at skunk R&D and they told me they didnt have any plans down the road for cam shafts for the L15, but if we get enough ppl, they would look into it. It's been a while since i talked to them, but if we get legit buyers to put money down, they might produce them
