Post After a brief hiatus from the forum we are back!

FitFreak members,

We sincerely apologize for our brief disappearance from the forum, but hope that you can warmly accept us back into the community as our products are finally here! We are a small staff here at Tanabe USA, and we have been working very hard on various projects and new products, including those that will benefit the Honda Fit community!

As a quick reference, the products currently available for the Fit can be found here:
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/kcars.asp

We understand that many of you have been waiting patiently for our parts, and we are sincerely grateful for that. While it may seem to have an overly long time coming, we want to ensure that the product we manufacture is the best possible, before releasing it to the public.

Questions? We can be reached any time M-F: 8:30pm - 5:30pm at:

info@tanabe-usa.com (emails are answered within 24-48hours)

or directly via phone at:

Please do not be shy to contact us! We are more than happy to answer any questions.

Well I would have never considered it a K-car. But as you see Japan has put us into the K-car class. Are we in the 00's equivilant of the 80's Reliants and Aries? Kind of brings a tear to your eye doesn't it.

Sliver- in the 80's car like Plymouth Reliant and Dodge Aries were refered to as K-cars. Probably just showing my age here.

Yes, we have several of these in stock for the drivers side. They can be picked up through www.more-japan.com or through any of the authorized dealers listed on the "Store Locator" link.

In Japan, the subcompact class of car is commonly called a "K Car" or "Kei Car". There are many periodicals in Japan that use this nomenclature. The "K Car" is originally designated for extremely tiny cars that were exempt from Japanese tax and insurance regulations. These were cars that were even smaller than the Fit-- The Honda Fit is certainly a small car, but is technically not a K-Car in the traditional Japanese definition.

Nowadays, the term has become very popular as a term loosely used for small cars in general.

The Honda Fit is definitely not a 20+ year old Reliant/Aries/other similar Chrysler car.

Please send us money Actually, we don't sell anything to the public, and only through authorized retail stores.

Just don't compare it to the turbo Omni or the Shelby Omni...
