The Rally to the Race: May 2

How about a FULL WEEKEND of sports car activities for $20 SCCA members, $30 non-members including:

1. 180 Mile SCCA National Championship Rally
2. 2 days of sports car races at Texas Motor Speedway, with free entry for driver and navigator to spectate
3. Free dinner with the courseworkers, racers, and other Texas Region members
4. About 20 minutes of parade laps run on the Texas Motor Speedway road race (Roval) track (photo ops?)
5. An autocross in Mineral Wells on Sunday (separate entry fee)
6. Pate Swap Meet: One of the 3 largest swap meets in the country. Fundraiser for 17 historic and vintage auto clubs. No admission charge. Sales tables available for anybody interested in selling auto stuff, so there will be an amazing assortment of all sorts of car stuff.

Enter the 2009 Rally to the Race and get set for a full weekend of events!

The start is in Richardson at the new North Texas Automotive Museum on Campbell Rd. Lunch and parade laps are at Texas Motor Speedway. The finish and free dinner are also at TMS, after an afternoon rallying in Wise County.

See the flyer at http://www.texasscca.org/RTTR09flyer.pdf for full event details and instructions to register at MotorsportReg.com.

If three of you enter you can form Team Fit to compete against the other club teams.

It went just fine! 32 cars registered, 29 started, 20 were scored. The missing were hit by a terrific downpour on course, which made it very hard to see street signs to stay on course, and other signs to score points. And some apparently just came for the cheap track time at TMS...as soon as we got off the track, they split, and we never saw them again.

The finishers all said they enjoyed the course, and had a good time.

Our next event will be on June 20. See www (dot) texasscca.org and click on Rally to see the schedule. If you want to be on the mailing list, send an email to rally@texasscca.org.
