Sup guys. Got some great news about work. Another 28 hrs of available overtime. So happy. Almost an extra 3k a month. Whooohooo

Adam...only thing I might add is that in Plato's Republic, he describes his ideal society which would not frame well with the ideal of American upward mobility due to his placing of people in a particular job based on attributes and need.

Only thing that could get you a better grade, imo would be to have an opening thesis for each answer--if you want help with that, I can help you out...

 

Yea best thing about it is I can do it whenever I want. Like work thru the night, weekends or w.e.

I didn't read the Republic lol but it sounds like he was a communist if he believed that social structure.

What would you recommend for a thesis? I'm going to start #2 now. I should be done within an hour lol

Adam--I wouldn't say he was a communist--more that everyone had a place. It's no happenstance that the philosopher thought that there ought to be a philosopher king. He in addition thought that the one who should be king should be someone who didn't want to be. Ambition makes for a bad king. (one reason he would disagree with American Political Candidates compaining for themselves)

Something like that maybe. It kind of congeals your ideas together... It should go at the beginning of your question.

Also--the reason that Plato wanted people to get at the truth was because thats what Socrates had always taught via his Socratic Questioning Method.

My kids usually find their theis difficult to write. Often, they outline their paragraphs first and then forumlate their thesis.

I LOVE philosophy and political theory.

I really want to get my masters in Political Theory but since I'd like to teach college (dual credit) Western Civilization here at the high school, I need to get my masters in History. Balls.
