The last time one got this far with enough power to worry about I was not able to get out of here until I cleared the road that wasn't even a road at the time.... I'm sure glad that we have a Forester now and there is county road maintenance....I don't have to use a chainsaw tractor jack and shovels as much now.

I just seen a report of it on The Weather Channel. According to them it is supposed to hit sometime tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully it doesn't pick up any oil from BP's screw up and sling it on land. That'll be a real mess.

There was a much worse situation on one of the SEDCO rigs in 78 or79
and Jimmy Carter held the bastards financially responsible and it was his undoing.... SEDCO was owned by former under secretary of the state, and first Republican governor of Texas in over 100 years William C. Clements.... The country has been in a downhill slide every since.

it would be better to have the oil on land than in water because clean up would be easier. i hope it sucks it up and throws it everywhere to get all that shenanigans out

That would only be good if the oil leak in the gulf is plugged. It would of course speed up the cleaning process in the water and allow shrimpers/crabbers/etc. to get back to their job sooner and whatnot but if the leak is still going this and the following hurricanes would just cause an even bigger mess.

Governments and corporations have been able to control the weather and have for political and monetary profit..... I am not totally crazy. The Vietnamese province I was in 42 years ago had the largest rainfall ever recorded due to manipulation by our government to slow enemy movement... It also left us without resupply and medical evacuation for sometimes 8 or 10 days... Whether the weather is being manipulated or not it appears that the counter clockwise motion of this storm is going move the oil toward the south and west, opposite of the flow of the Gulf Stream..... My plans to go to Padre Island are screwed...At least I can still go to San Antonio.

^That's pretty cool. What contest did you win? If you get a chance, we should meet up. I need to see Adele in person.

It was on Facebook, you had to like their page, write on their wall you wanted to be entered and they drew a name.

We have tickets to the zoo, Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, Dr. Pepper Museum, Mayborne Museum Where else should we go and/or eat? Yeah, I'll let you know when we are coming and we can meet up so you can see Adele and I can see your ssm beast!

We saw the show "The Daytripper" just a few weeks ago that had a special on Waco...they listed Health Camp and George's as must eats.

I need to find these facebook contests.

The DP museum is really fun. I went last year with my g/f and spent a good 3 hours in there.

You might also check out the suspension bridge and Cameron Park.

As far as eating goes... George's is great. You can get their signature draft Big-O or Big-Margarito. It's sit down style, so would be nice for an evening meal.

My favorite Waco restaurant is Vitek's which is a little BBQ joint right off of I-35. If you go, you must get the Gutpak. It's made of fritos, sausage, chopped beef, cheese, pickles, onions and peppers. Soooooo good.

When are you coming up?

Oh well, it looks like all of the whores got sleepy and pussed out. I think I'll drink my last Heineken and clean a gun or two.
