Its not a Valentine but I used a 1" strip of velcro, hook side to dashboard, fuzzy to detector. It almost catalevers but my silicone mirror wiper is folded beneath it. It acts as a suspension system. The mute button is a direct wired feature and it saves a long reach to the unit when its sounding off. The pigtail power lead rolls up and stores in the change pocket.
It looks crude but all is easily stowed from view. Forgive the mess in the foreground. The tarped-over Unimog is another project.
