Just got an 07 Sport @ 140k, what should I be looking out for?
Hello everyone!
First time Honda owner, I came from working on my 99 Saturn SL1 and now on to my 07 Sport. It's at 140k, and I've got the Carfax.
No real maintenance is noted on the carfax besides scheduled and regular maintenance performed, as well as car serviced. It only had one owner. The only things I know for sure is the the transmission fluid was changed 40,000 miles ago, and the front brake rotors were resurfaced 30,000 miles ago.
So I should be changing the tranny fluid as well as watching my breaks? What is this I see about coil packs? Will I obviously know when to swap em out? Also, the timing chain. Does the Fit's engine usually let it loosen up and skip links, or does it suddenly break?
Oils, owners manual says 5-20. Is Mobile 1 5-20 synthetic or high mileage fully synthetic recommended?
A few questions, I know. Thanks in advance for the advice.

You'll know when the coil packs go bad. You get CELs and noticeable stuttering, loss of power, etc. It's really noticeable. If it's not doing anything, don't replace it.
Timing chain is said to last the life of the engine, so it's going to last 250k+ (?)
I used Valvoline MaxLife 5W-20 HM synthetic blend motor oil, made my engine run all tight and less "revvy", I switched back to regular Chevron 5W-20. No problems. A lot of people use full synthetic, as it can only do good for your engine anyways. So go for it.
Tranny fluid you should replace every 50k imo, many people recommend doing it earlier but I see no real point.
Otherwise there are no other common issues with the Fit besides the coil pack.
