I just went through the Gap on Easter Sunday. I got a ticket!

Tennessee is being pricks about the Gap and trying to stop people from driving through it. I saw a cop a few turns ahead and slowed to the new 30mph speed limit. Passed him and then got back to having fun. Saw another cop, but wasn't speeding that time. He pulled out and pulled me over.

The first cop then pulled in behind him and said that I passed him going 45 in a 30. He even put on the ticket that he didn't radar me...just pulled a number out of his A$$.

I've been through the Gap umpteen times on my motorcycle with no problems...first time in a car and I get a ticket.

I went to the Gap last fall (article was in Sport Compact Car) and saw numerous cars pulled over. Even had a couple friends get tickets. Not planning on going back up there with a group. Just don't think it's a good idea.

Damn everyone sorry to hear of your bad luck with cops and tickets. I have been once before but was in a friends mini. We saw a few cops but didnt have any issues. I want to go back with my car this time cause im sure it will change the whole experience. Is there anybody out there that would like to make the trip?

It is a beautiful place. If you plan a trip, I'd likely come. Could meet at the Tail of the Dragon motorcycle resort on the NC side. I'd probably just do some of the loops South of the resort. There's great roads in that whole area.

My wife is almost completely feerless. I've never once scared her on either of my motorcycles...even at 150mph+ or in my Superduty at triple digit speeds on offroad tires. I know...slow down. Long story short, I scared her enough in Deals Gap in the Fit that she asked/begged me to slow down.

It is the most intense road and just keeps going...you keep thinking that it has to end, but doesn't for 11 miles!

Anyone who's been through there in a car knows what it's like to be passed by many sport bikes (I'm usually the one on the bike). Not a single bike even caught me in the Fit.

I'm still up for Deal's Gap. Let me know a weekend. BTW, I'll be posting pics as soon as I read the post on how to post pics. That's a lot of "posts" in one post...ok I'm done, lol.

JD lemme know, I'm game. I just put the aux input in my base fit with a DIY, and now I can rock out to my zune while I cruise. It's...so...on
