Compact spare tire specs
I have a Canadian AT model which does not come with a spare tire.
Could someone with a 2007 Fit give me the specs for both the compact spare tire as well as the rim? Also, let me know if this is for the Sport model or the other models as not sure if there is a difference in specs for the compact spare tire between models.
Thanks in advance

My Canadian AT Sports did not come with a spare tire as well. Getting a spare tire kit would set us back approx $300
Instead of investing $300 in a spare tire for insurance which I may or may not use, I bought 4 snowtires and steelies for $1,000 that will keep me safe for winter.
If I make long trips during winter, I would use one of the old seasons as a spare tire to bring me to the nearest gas station. If I make long trips during summer, I would use one of the snow tires as a spare tire and drive slowly to the nearest service center

Brian, thanks for the specs for the 2010 model. I'm also looking for the specs for a 2007 model, preferably Canadian. The idea being to see if I can use the compact spare from an older Fit in the 2nd generation and vice versa.
Ric, I have the same idea that you do if I cannot find a cheap compact spare but haven't got a set of winters yet. I am definitely not willing to pay $200-300 for a compact spare. Does your full size tire fit flush in the spare tire slot? Do you bolt the spare down as I do not seem to have the long bolt that will hold the tire down.

I found the owner's manual on the web, probably you can find a 2007 one there too.
If your car has steel wheels, a spare rim won't cost much- you can probably find one at a junk yard. I don't know what the 2007 alloys cost (the 2010s are expensive) but if you don't think of it as a spare but rather just a fifth wheel to be included in tire rotation, then the tire doesn't really cost 'extra' you're just buying more time before you have to change all five.

During City driving, I don't bother to carry a spare (less weight, save fuel) because my FIT comes with 3 years free Honda roadside assistance. As my wife is the prime driver for City driving and in the event of a puncture, she just call Honda they will come and blow glue into the punctured tire as a temporary fix.
When I called the Honda dealership, they mentioned a spare tire kit for 2010 FIT will cost $278 and will be about $300 plus taxes.. unless you take up Brain's great suggestion to look for your spare tire from junk yard or other cheaper sources
Best of luck in your decision and your search for a spare tire... it is handy to have one in the event of an emergency especially during long road trips....don't want to fiddle around blowing glue into the puncture tire in la la land or if the puncture hole is too big, the temporary glue will not help and you will be on your own away from Cities during the road trip

My name is Shaun, not Brian, and I would think the spare would fit in the well but would stick way up since the full size tire is wider than the spare (that's the way it worked on my last two cars). As far as the bolt- it seems pretty long but a bolt doesn't cost much...
