Weird. I was just thinking that I haven't heard from the machine shop. No word, it's still at the machine shop. They are going to balance the clutch plate with the FW. Super professional.

It's not actually a "machine shop", they are engine builders. I met the owners son through a friend and he toured me through the shop. They do anywhere from dealership work,to personal projects, to race team work.

Speaking of the devil.

The shop just called they safely got the FW to 12lbs 2.5oz.

But, the Spec clutch plate was so far out of spec they can't balance it. Wouldn't have expected that out of a $400 Spec clutch.

Honda SPEC Clutch Four Puck

I will never purchase anything from Spec Clutches.

Spec's warranty rep was rude and short with me. He was having another conversation in the back ground with someone else. Any question I had he answered with "I don't know".

When I told him the situation he replied "that's impossible our clutches are zero balanced". Mistakes happen, it's ok no biggie, I'm not mad, a bad unit got through it happens. But instead of being defensive, you should FIX THE PROBLEM SPEC.

I will pick up a GoPro this spring and post on-board/ track-side videos. I meant to last year. I'm excited to get to the new Palmer Speedway in Mass. Trying to figure out a new track is a lot of fun.

I was looking into the KTubner, never settled on it. I have to wrap up current projects before starting new ones, so it's not out of the question.

No, I never got dyno #'s. I don't really care what they, and dyno time is expensive.

Hey, not sure if you ever installed you lightweight flywheel and clutch setup but just to let you know, I installed a lightweight flywheel and 6 - puck clutch back in 2009 and it was fine as far as no CEL. Thank you for all of your posts, threads, videos and contributions to the Fit community!

Great feedback, thanks. It's still at the machine shop, I probably should call them. How light was your Flywheel?

Honestly, i really don't remember because it was ages ago but i don't think i got under 10lbs due to safety but i took it to a MOPAR RACE shop to balance it and they were talking smack on me because they had piston rings bigger than our flywheels - but it was all in good fun

they had this crazy pro stock neon engine in their engine dyno room and it literally scarred the shart out of me, something to the tune of 4 digit hp. And here we're struggling to hit over 3 digits!

Basic Rear Diff Vortex

Here's a glimpse of what I have been working on. Redesigning my rear diffuser using CFD and wind tunnels.

Diff angle= 17 deg w/ 4 in ground clearance.

Diff Angle= 17 Deg w/ 1 in ground clearance.

Diff angle= 10 deg w/ 1 in ground clearance.

Notice the reduction in vortices. Vortices=Drag

what hardware are you using for your rendering? CPu or GPU?

Wouldn't know, I know nothing about computers. I'm using the Universities computers. Pics are nice but I'm more interested in the numbers.

The software is Solidworks, which is a demanding program. Once I decide on a configuration I will run the CFD in Ansys.

I started build the FIT in Solidworks to do an analysis of the diffuser's effect on my car.

In the works:

I will be (finally) picking up my lighten flywheel this weekend from the machine shop!!!
