Driving to and from work today (mostly highway) I got 45 mpg, going 60-65 on the highway. Sport AT. I'm very pleased.

I do about 15 miles to work one way.. around 4-5 is city driving. My first fill only got 32.8. I think it's because there are just too many damn stop signs near the office.

I only have right at 100 miles on mine, so no *real* numbers yet, but the little trip computer is saying 34.5. Probably about 60% highway 40% city so far. I have a sport manual. Very much babying it for break in.

Either the car sucks at reporting the avg mpg or the gas station screwed us. The car said 39.5 mpg but calculating it came out to 31.3. An error of 8.2 mpg or 21%. I am going to be doing an experiment though because either the gas station is screwing people or there is a problem with the car. Reason being it took 10.3 gallons to fill up. The gas light is supposed to come on when there is 1.64 gallons left. The fit gas tanks capacity is 10.6 gallons. In theory we should of only had to put around 9 gallons in the car. The light turned on just before we got to the gas station, maybe a mile or two tops with the light on. Using that would give us a difference of 3.7 mpg from what the car said which seems to be in line with the 4 everyone else here has reported. I guess we'll have to wait another week or so till we fill up at a different station.

That would make me REALLY suspicious; gas gauges are normally very pessimistic...(or your gauge is seriously ahoo). I'd drop a dime on that guy to whatever state agency monitors pump calibrations.
Otherwise, I'd give it a couple three fillups comparing mileage minder mileage and calculated...there is a huge variation in pump shutoff and other variables; temperature for one. Over time we can get a better idea how accurate the mileage minder is.

Are you using gas with any ethanol in it?

Just filled up the tank for the second tank and for my first tank I got 45.2mpg.

I'm used to putting $20 in a truck every other day or so and now I can go a whole week driving to college and back (50 miles round trip maybe) on a single tank!

Please post if the mileage is from the trip computer or from manually calculating.

From the various reports, it sounds like 10% is a pretty good estimate for the over-optimism of the trip computer.

First tank on my Sport MT: 34.2 mpg actual and 36.5 on computer. This was 70% highway and 30% city/country. Had AC on 50% of the time. I'm very happy with the MPG. I'm also loving the car...I can't wait to hit that 600 mile mark!

Just filled up my 3rd tank. Mixed driving.

33.0 calculated
38.8 computer

A whopping 5.8 disparity. My last 2 fill ups were exactly 4 mpg off.

Hmm.

So far it looks like the auto is getting better MPG than the manual. Hmmm
