The first tank in our 5MT Sport was 33.3 mpg calculated and 36.5 mpg on the trip computer. That tank was like 90% city with a couple 5-10 mile highway stints.

After 4th fill-up getting 38.5 per computer and 34.4 calculated. Still about 4 mpg high. Haven't yet called back Honda service at dealership to see if anyone else has reported this issue. Almost 12% off. Has anyone else talked to their dealer or Honda about the mpg error?

Just because the gauge reads 1/2 tank does not mean it really is - in my former 2007 MT Fit, 1/2 tank reading was closer to 60% used, 40% left.

Just filled up again and got 38.9 MPG. This is mix driving of 70% highway (75mph cruise). My wife also let it idle for about 15mins while she was waiting for me at lowes. I would of gotten alteast 40mpg without the idling. Oh well, it was really hot out today.

Miles per Gallon

1st fillup---31mpg city highway mix
2nd fillup---32mpg" "
3rd fillup----35mpg" "
4th fillup----39mpg mostly highway
After I hit 750 miles the mpg started getting better the last fillup was a freeway trip 400 miles and put 8.77 gallons in the car. This was at night with no a/c on came to 46 mpg the gauge in car read 41. I know there are differences at pumps but how the he-- is the epa figuring mileage? I would have to drive the shi- out of this car to get 27 mpg.
ps once yours is broke in step on it. At high rpm's this car is *&(^$%^%$@# cool

First 1/2 tank

Brand new, 10 miles on it included my test drive. At 170 miles my cumulative gauge is showing 41.2 mpg. I can't wait to fill it a couple times to see if this is really true. About 75hwy/25city no A/C.
SSM Sport M/T. If this is real I may not miss the old Civic HX.
Much more fun to drive but in fast sweepers the shorter wheelbase is definitely a little more "twitchy".

My comp is at 42.9 with mostly highway, 65 mph-ish, but with some city driving/aggressive acceleration. If I stayed completely at 65 mph I'm certain it would keep at least 44 mpg.

The MPG gauge might be nice. But we all know by now it's not too accurate. I have not read a report that it actually under calculated the actual MPG.

Too bad it can not be calibrated by the user.

Just did my first fill last night since getting it from the dealer, which read 42.5mpg on the gauge and was probably around 38-39mpg. I couldn't do an exact calculation...

This time, with the trip meter reset, my gauge reads 50.1mpg after my 70 mile one-way trip to work! 95% highway, A/C on the whole time (the lowest setting), through some stop and go SoCal traffic on the 210 freeway. Even if the gauge is off by 3-4mpg, it's still incredible! I'll caluclate the actual tomorrow after my drive home.

so far 2 fillups avg 250-275miles per fillup. Console does say avg 28-29 mpg, mainly 95% city driving.
My wife and i must have a heavy foot.

Very impressive, especially if you're in California where the formulated gas kills your mileage by at least 10% (my experience).

My first tank showed 40.1 on the computer and 36.2 calculated. So it's pretty close to what others are saying. That said, the best I ever got on my 07 was 38 once on a trip.

My first tank yielded a calculated mileage of 31 mpg. I drive mostly in the city at speeds of 40 mph or less.

My daily commute is 7 miles, one way.

Just bought an '09 AT. I am getting 42.1 mpg average with mixed driving -- I am trying to keep the rpm's below 2200, just to see what i can get out of it. The next time I fill up I'm going to drive more aggressively and see what the difference is.

brand new.

drove 100 miles in the mountains approx 30 mpg
drove 100 miles 95% hwy 5% city speed range 65-70 38

i have approx 300 miles on this car.

can't believe it. i saw 29/35 figured i would get mix of 31-32mpg. if you baby it you can get great miles or if you push it some you can still get good mileage.
thank you honda
