This thread is awesome, so many great looking tints. Did some of my research here before I had my Orange Revolution Fit 09 windows tinted. I went for a fade look. I'm in CA and had my back, back sides, and front sides done in this order using Solar Gard HP Supreme: 16%-22%-35%.
The tints are reflective and the orange revolution really shines, so it complements each other, making it look really good.
I understand I'm taking a risk because any tints on the front side windows are illegal in CA. When I drive, I follow the speed limit, make a full stop at the traffic sign, keep my eyes on the road and for CHP. When CHP is next to me, I roll windows down. I always let my passengers know. Yesterday my friend got pulled over for having tints on his front window. 35% driving a 350 Z. He had his tints for 5 years.
So far, its been 4 months and my tints are still intact. It's warming up here in CA and the tints are definitely cooling my Fit.

35% front, 20% rear, very front tiny windows. Even though 35% is the darkest legal tint for front windows in MO, I had the tinys tinted to 20% like the rear because there'd be no way to meter them.
What are the regulations about window tinting in Missouri?
Vehicles registered in Missouri may have the windows to the immediate right and left of the driver tinted to 35%, plus or minus 3% or more light transmittance. Any tint with less light transmittance on these windows would require a physician's prescription indicating a serious medical condition requiring the darker tinting. Windows behind the driver and the rear glass are not subject to tint limitations. The windshield is not to be tinted except that portion at the top, which is normally tinted by the vehicle manufacturer.
I'm going with 35 front and 20 rear, plus 'eyebrow'. I would sure like to be able to get a UV protective very light or clear coating on the whole windshield, though.
My 2009 Fit Sport Storm Silver Metallic, Fresh Out of the Tint Shop
I decided to go with 20% on the rear passenger/back windows and 35% on the front driver/passenger windows. I went to Sun and Shade in Collegeville, PA www.sunandshade.net. This is the 3rd car I have had tinted here and he stands behind his work.
If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, would you be interested in using to it to measure the Visible Light Transmission (VLT) percentage? I just completed an application called ‘iTint’ , and should be available in the Apple App Store by the end of August 2009. BTW, the according to my measurement, the 2009 Honda Fit windows are 95% VLT.
Just another noob question, I picked up my white Fit Sport w/Navi last Saurday and next Friday am getting the windows tinted. I am planning on 50% up front and 20% everywhere else, this will keep me legal and help keep the kids cool in the back. My question is, will the 50/20 look weird? Any suggestions? I just want to be sure and stay legal. Appreciate the input.
Laws vary by state. The site International Window Film Association has a current listing. You may want to ride in a car that has the same darkness that you would like, and use the same VLT (Visible Light Tranmission) percentage for your Fit. Of course measuring how dark something is always present a problem. You don't want to have your Fit tinted, and find out it's not exactly what you want. The Fit's windows are nearly clear with a VLT of 95%. Using the same tint film on different cars will produce different results, since the base VLT is different. I have 70% VLT Front side and 50% VLT on the back side, and rear. The rear could go a little darker, but I don't feel like re-doing the rear at this point.
Trigeek3... Can you post pictures. I'm planning on getting 50% tint everywhere except the windshield and would like to see what it looks like on a Fit.
Here is my Fit with 71% VLT front, 50% VLT back. I used my new app on my iPod Touch to measure VLT. Be aware the the numbers posted by most people are either what the factory tint supplied, or the tint installer. I will try to verify the accuracy of my program later this week, comparing the results with some certified standard.
