70% all around except front winshield

 

Thanks for the pic, do you have anything from the outside of the car?

 

I plan to do 50 on the side and 30 on the hatch glass... But alas, my fit will not be here till October

 

I pick up my car tomorrow with the tint already done. Getting Llumar ATR High Performance metallic hybrid tint, 35% front (legal limit here in ON) and 15% back. I was told that they can't do the little front windows (by side mirrors) since they are slightly before these and so considered part of windshield (illegal to tint in ON). Is this what everyone else here was told, that you can't tint the little front windows?

 

I'm really looking forward to checking out your tint, since 35% is the legal limit here in NC for the fronts, and I plan on going darker for the rears.

However, I have never heard of the little windows being considered part of the front window?? All of the tint pics I have seen so far of the 09 had that little window tinted as well.

Here in NC we can tint the front window 5" down from the top, or down to the AS-1 line, whichever is greater. Can anyone confirm how far down the "AS-1 line" is on the 09 Fit?

 

I went to the tint shop personally to inquire about the film they use and that's when the manager told me that it is illegal (here in Ontario) to tint those little front windows. They are positioned before the side mirrors, therefore are considered part of the windshield. So, no tint (again, here in Ontario) on those little windows. I went maximum legal tint front (35%) and had a choice between 35%, 15% or 5% (aka limo tint) on the back. My current car has 35% all around so I was looking for darker (more privacy if carrying cargo) at the back without going to a limo tint (seriously impacted visibility at night).

 

Good to know, thank you. My Fit will be a work vehicle hauling expensive surgical equipment in the back so I certainly need to keep prying eyes out of there. 15% sounds like a good compromise between security & reduced visibility.

Looking forward to checking out how it looks with the 35% up front!

I have the Llumar ATC 35 all around except for my windshield. The shop didn't say anything about the front quarter windows, so I'm assuming that all my tint is legal here in California.

I love my tint. Dark grey/green.

What's cool is that even though the hatch window is 35, it looks like almost limo dark due to all the tint of the surrounding windows, so I really don't need a cargo cover now. It obscures anything you have back there.

dont be surprised if you see a cop cite you for your front tinted windows, you assumed wrong.

shop doesn't say anything so they can get more money for tinting fronts.

No problems - - both our '07 and now the '09 have the little windows tinted, the same shop did both and never mentioned them as being
illegal - - 15% is legal in the rear here in FL, but they did the fronts with 15% too, they just made us aware what's legal.
