09 Fit Window Tint Thread
Thanks for the advice! +1 rep!

Just seeing this... No problems with adhesion, but I think that has a lot to do with the installer and the particular matrix. I know what you're talking about, my old Integra had the adhesion problem in the rear window.
And yes, it helps with the sun. I was able to drive comfortably the other day with bright sun shining but masked by the 20% stripe. My wife sits a little lower and didn't have that advantage and was virtually blinded...
Overall I think it takes a little getting used to, but it's a very nice option, especially nice to fill in those spots where the visors don't quite reach.

Correction: It looked good! Actually great!
But I got pulled over the same day I got it tinted, and since I didn't want two-tone tint (at least not that much contrast), I had all of the tint removed. And I will get re-tinted after Turkey Day!

sorry to hear! That's why I went with a slightly lighter tint myself - 30% (even tho 35 is legal) because it doesn't LOOK too dark. My old car has 20% on the side windows (S2000, plastic rear window), but I never got stopped for that probably because it was only the sides.
Well I got mine tinted today..... 17% on the rear 3 windows, 32% on the rear passenger windows, 55% on the front drivers windows/ small forward windows and 7% 8 inch tint strip on the front window..... I'll have pic's up tommorow..
Question is how long should it take for the streaks to go away ? they said it was from the "brush " marks and to park it in the sun and they would dissappear within a few days , something about extra water that would evaporate . Sound about right?
Here is my '09 Fit Sport GE8 MT

It is FormulaOne Pinnacle (ceramic) series 50 in rear,35 front.
Done by Made in the Shade, Inc. in Mesa Az.
Thanks AZ EQ
It looks like they're going away already and
it has been pretty cold and overcast as well as rainy around here . I wish I could've put 50 s in the back but
it ain't legal round these parts and I've heard some horror stories about the police .
Later , Tigerman

Yea, they are a little more open minded in AZ due to the strength of the sun. They don't care about behind the driver at all if you have outside mirrors.
Also make sure you use a window cleaner that is approved for Tint, it will list it on the bottle. {and no ammonia ever ;-)}

They didn't charge tax , not sure how that works .They charged a $15 shop fee , whatever that was for ?
Lookin real good . The shop has been there about 15 years according to one of the guys working there .
The owner knew more about tinting and would tell you
than you ever wanted to know .
I think I might go 20% on the back 3 windows, 35% on the front and rear driver/passenger windows, and 20% on the front a-pillar windows. Should be a pretty uniform look with the OEM window visors over the windows with lighter 35% tint. That's also the legal limit on the front in my state (a-pillar tint will be illegal technically but i don't think any officer is gonna cite that).
i have a black fit.
suntek 5% on the back window and the little side backs.
suntek 18% or 15% on the rear windows.
on the driver and passenger side i got uv clear tint.
i don't want to give the police a reason to pull me over.

i read all the posts from the cali people and not one of them said it was illegal for the driver/passenger windows to be tinted. you can tint the driver/passenger windows at your own risk. lots of tint places will do it for you but won't give you a receipt for the work and want you to pay in cash.
