Sticky Clutch in the Cold Weather?

This is a question to all who drive in really cold weather:

So these past couple days have been freakin cold (below -20 celsius), and while driving I've noticed that the clutch is quite "sticky" in that there's noticable resistance when pushing down and releasing the clutch. This is continual even when the car has been running for a while. Is it just my car or is this common for M/T cars in the real cold winters? (this is my first M/T car, and also my first time driving a M/T in the winter.

I guess I don't really have a valid say, seeing as I'm on the coast. But it has been getting quite a bit cooler then normal here, to the point that it may actually snow. I haven't noticed any strangeness in my clutch. Its normal for it to be cold when you first start driving, sometimes causing resistance, or making shifting a bit more difficult. After like 10 minutes though you should be good...

That's the thing, it stays that way the whole ride....actually in this really cold weather right now, the heat isn't that great. It's not terrible but it could be better. I was actually parked in a heated garage earlier today for over an hour, and the clutch was back to normal after that time period. I'm just curious if the clutch is supposed to have that much resistance, even in the cold weather....

check your clutch fluid. it might be jelly cause of the cold.

you could change the fluid to withstand lower temperatures. i think it is really just brake fluid but i could be wrong.

Negative 43 with windchill yesterday and I had the same issue. I have not had this problem before today. Is it terrible for the components? I just ran shifted very slowly and carefully.

Today (8 deg F) I noticed for the first time that the clutch was a little bit stiff. I've only had the car for a week, so I don't know if this is normal or not! I'm not going to worry about it.

cold temps are not that bad for the cars as long as the fluids are running within the proper operating temperatures.

I've been noticing this too in the mornings because I leave my car outside, and my clutch pedal is pretty sticky . But during noon the clutch is back to when it feels right. I guess it just takes time to warm up.

I eventually realized that annoying behavior in 50F cold temperatures, and other annoyances was due to the CDV (Clutch Delay Valve). Either shift slowly in the mornings or replace the Clutch Master Cylinder.
