wow I didn't even realize in your first set of pics how the exhaust does beat down right on the side of that platform. smart packing and once again good pics.

Thanks - yeah somehow I did not realize this either throughout installation/packing/etc. It was not until I had all my stuff packed in there and drove over to load my friend's stuff (40 min trip) and I saw things freaking melting that I realized there was a problem. Only damage was minor melting of the strap where it was wrapped around that edge of the cargo carrier, and minor heat damage on the outside of the material of the cargo bag. No biggie, just glad we noticed when we did, and lucky my friend had a milk jug handy.

anybody tried a tail pipe extension that is bent at an angle to divert the exhaust?
