for those of you in the snow belt states that use roadsalt in the winter...
i had this pretty bad salt stain on my carpeting where my a/s floormats
didn't cover.

figures, huh? I tried all sorts of cleaners including
Griot's CarpetCleaner, InteriorCleaner, but it still left behind a light gray
trace of salt stains. by this time, i was thinking maybe it's like calcium
or other minerals so cleaners wouldn't work...
so i tried a white vinegar/tap water mix (50:50), sprayed liberally onto
the stained area and kept spraying more every 5min for 15in. took
a fresh clean cotton towel and without scuffing or rubbing, just pressed
firmly to soak up the solution. dont rub the carpet because it will
damage it. repeated again.
then at the end used only water and soaked it up to remove the vinegar.
used a total of 6-7 clean fresh towels.
i checked this morning and the stain came out completely!!

i am
so frikken happy.
give it a shot. (and rep points please).
