Hubcap (wheel trim assembly) info

I recently lost one of my hubcaps and as I check online for a replacement I notice there are 2 different part #'s and 2 different prices for the same hubcap (#8). I called the parts department at the dealer and by way of the VIN number, he quoted the more expensive 44733-TAR-G01 ($98). He said he wasn't sure if the cheaper 44733-T5R-A01 ($28) would fit. So I took a chance and ordered the cheaper hubcap and lo and behold it fits perfectly!

I've seen this before on other parts where there are 2 different part numbers for the same part but with wildly different prices. Maybe my Japan built Fit earns the more expense price for some reason and non-Japan built Fits default to the lower price.

Anyway, if you need to replace one of your hubcaps (LX models), feel free to order the cheaper one. It works just fine.

I felt free to replace the whole factory set with a charcoal gray colored generic set for, like, maybe $24 for all 4...look better, in my eyes, than the factory. Might go with full moon covers when I upgrade tires down the road....but...that's a few years off

I would go aftermarket at this point. No sense in paying for factory 1 cap when you can go aftermarkets for about the 20$ for a set of 4.

I just installed this set of
$24 Honda-clone hubcaps $24 Honda-clone hubcaps
on my 14" ice/snow tire wheels. I couldn't get used to the "badass, bare-wheel, winter-warrior" look.

With free shipping it ended up being $34 from Amazon. Still not bad.

For some reason it never occurred to me to go after-market. Maybe the car is too new for my brain to contemplate going after-market just yet. If I lose or damage another one, I think I'll go that route. I could sell the remaining 3 real cheap here to help those FitFreakers who still want OEM hubcaps.

Nice! That's gotta look good on a black Fit. Do you have a pic with them on your car?

Too bad it doesn't come in black - would match your Fit.

The Wildkat is a few steps above my Epiphone Les Paul Special ll, but it works for the amateur that I am.
