Ok I have a couple of questions, The dealer said they filled it up when I left and i got 32 with 50/50 driving but when I filled it up I let the pump stop it self then I milked it and it seemed like forever that it filled up to the top of the cap that is a long fuel hose. I first used 93 is that better for ? And how often do you change your AT oil in the Trans?

But 50 miles (~80km) if probably a good all round estimate.

Just look up your gas tank size (41 litres on '07-'08s) and subtract the amount you put in when you fill to when it clicks off, and you'll know how much fuel you have left. I'd figure on leaving a few litres in the tank.
JCLW, thanks for your reply!
The dealer had filled that first tank and I think he hyperfilled. The 09 LX is listed as a 40 litre tank.

It's probably safe to say 510-520 kms on that first tank.
thanks again

So far so good on the gas mileage.
First fill up was from the dealer, averaged 30.5, think they might have short changed me.
Second fill up which I did, averaged 40.2 which I really like. Hopefully it will stay that way or get better as time goes on.

My last trip....

Just came back from New Orleans a couple of weeks ago and driving there from Pensacola with a full tank of 92 I got 42 mpg.
I ran with the windows up and the A/C off only had the vent fan on.
I left early and it was cool enough.

I usually run 87octane around town and average 32,
I also had just installed a Fujita SRI which makes a difference.

have gotten an average mileage of 29.7 around town, 32.4 mixed and expect 38 or better on the highway. It all depends on how you drive and how much you stomp the gas peddle! I don't have cruise control and if I did I would be getting better on the open road.
My Accord this am was getting an average of 23.2 mixed and almost 28 on the highway. Pretty good.

Currently averaging around 33 mpg @ 650 mi.

Just got my 2009 AT Fit Sport in CBP about a month and a half ago. So far, I absolutely dig it. Looking forward to getting a few accessories for it once I recover from the initial shock of buying it. Had a bit of a dilemma between the fit and the insight, but I only drive about 7-8K miles per year, so it would take FOREVER for me to make the insight worth it. In addition to the carbon foot print of building the hybrids and shipping them over here, it just seemed that the fit was the best option for me.

I live in Cincinnati which is known for its ridiculous hills, and I get around 25-32 in the city and 40-44 on the highway.

Only driven 650 mi so far, most of that in the city (75/25), and I've got an AVG of 33 mpg.

Going on a trip soon, so we'll see what that does to my AVG.

-P

4 days with my new 2009 Sport AT and the first tank netted 38 mpg (319.4 miles - 8.4 gal fillup). Not sure if the dealer did a "full" fillup since the avg MPG meter was showing 40.8. My driving 90/10 highway/city with a 103 mile (round trip) highway drive to work. speed is in the 70mph range most of the time..

DelFit gets great mileage

I got poor mileage on my first tankful, about 27.5 mpg, but since in road driving mostly on 50 - 55 mph roads with few stops and lights, I have averaged between 36 and 38 mpg on the last two tankfuls. When I throw in city driving it drops to about 32 mpg or so. No complaints thus far.

I just changed my oil and my mpg went down. My cars seem to get better mpg on slightly dirtier oil instead of fresh. It happened on my Civic and now the Fit. Weird.

You may have something, thanks!

My base Fit got only about 27 mpg or so on the tankful from the dealer after I picked it up. Since then it has been great. I still do not 1500 miles on the car, so it is probably still setting in. A lot of my driving is ideal for mileage, long runs between stops at 50 - 55 mph in southern Delaware, which is perfectly flat. Bottom line, I love the car. It is really fun to drive, especially on winding roads.

Honestly, after 21k miles on the car or so my mileage went up like 4mpg without any other change to the car, which was my third oil change. I have noticed it doesn't feel any different to drive, but the car has finally settled in(probably engine break-in period) and now I have switched to Synthetic. On my racebike and on other vehicles, you break the car/bike in with dino oil, and then once it has broken in you switch to synthetic and the vehicle runs strong for years...

I was waiting for the break in period to pass before posting. '09 Sport AT

Around town, up mountains, windy back roads in "D" getting about 31.
Highway, with cruise on @ 73/74 38.

In "S" mode I have gotten it up into 40+.

All in all, very happy and impressed because this is the first car that I have owned that actually not only meets the est mpg, but exceeds it.

I wanted to add that, I drive it how I feel. Not always to try and conserve fuel...I like to punch it on occasion and have barely noticed a difference in "D", but "S" is a big difference in mpg when driving aggressively.
