high speed fuel consumption

i drove from umhlanga to Richards bay(South Africa) about 160 km (100 miles) at high speed (140kmph-160kmph) around 85 to 100mph.At times i pushed it till 200 kph (124 mph) till the limiter kicked in but as soon as i reached 124 mph i slowed down to about 85 mph, just testing the jazz top speed. My fuel consumption was +- 10 km per 100 km (23.5 mpg).On my return trip i drove constantly at 60 mph and got 6 litres per 100 km (39 mpg) . The jazz in my opinion is a bit loud at high speed and can't compare to a BMW or MERC at those speeds (well they are luxury german sedans made for high speed cruising).i can understand now why so many say that the jazz needs a 6th gear but honda engineers know better . i really enjoy this car for its performance(1.5 i-vtec manual 2013 ) and fuel consumption(if driven at reasonable speed). One can get just over 40 mpg on the highway and 33 mpg city, driving moderate speeds. My car is also getting better mpg than when i bought it with 1864 miles , now i have 16700 miles on the odo.
