If you bought an 07 Sport with 131k on it...

If you or a friend purchased a 2007 Honda Fit Sport with about 131,000 miles on it, what would be the first things you started going over on it?

I was thinking:

Oil Change
Serpentine Belt
Trans Fluid/Filter
Spark Plugs
Coil Packs
Either air filter or get a K&N intake
Timing Belt (or chain, but I am guessing its a belt)
Do a general inspection of everything I can

Are there parts that start going or should be replaced at this point? Like water pump, AC. ball joints, etc etc etc?

I want to make sure i have everything in working order before I even start thinking about upgrades.

Thank gosh for a chain... What are the odds it needs service?

However you'll want to consider replacing the tensioner and guides at some point around 150K~200K? Just depends on when you start to hear the chain make clattering noises. With old 318i's with the M42 engine if left to run on worn out guides and tentioners for a long time, the dual row chain will actually stretch and need to be replaced. Even if you replaced the timing gears, guides, tensioners there would still be clatter from the stretched, neglected chain.

So yeah. Don't neglect your timing component maintenance!

A friend of mine had a 90 something Tacoma. Never changed the oil for like 100k miles. His chain had started to stretch like that, and had started to chew into the guides and case around it. Pretty certain I am remembering that correctly. Stealership wanted $1500 to fix cause it required yanking the engine... Did it in my parent garage by just titlting the engine just enough.

I miss the 318ti's... Wish they didn't stop making them... Now anyone with one in good condition wants two to three times the book value.

You may not need to do anything if you have a maintenance record indicating all service is up to date. It won't hurt but you may spend time and money replacing things that will have no affect. Spark plugs are good for at least 100k. Coil packs are notoriously problematic on the 07 and 08s. Replace only if you have a missing/stuttering problem. K&N filter: Don't waste your time and money on crap like that. Google "cold air intake scam" or "short air intake scam". You'll get increased noise, that's it.

if your coolant looks dirty, i would consider doing a coolant flush.
