well... how'zit go?!
'seat of the pants' improvement or just sound
are those the ssr wheels from your crx? what size/offset? tires size?
It sounds great, I can't really say anything about a seat of the pants improvement, as I still haven't gunned her yet
The SSR's were moved over from the CRX. 15x7 with +42 offset. 195/50-15 Pirelli's. The rim/tire combo is much lighter than stock, these rims weigh about 10 pounds each.
I was thinking about getting it myself! Can you Record the sound and post it up? I really have to hear it before i Buy!!
Does it sound like a sportier car, meaning like it came from the factory sounding sportier? Or does it have a classic lound rumble? OR DOES IT HAVE THAT RICE ROCKET sound?
Hey gang! I work at a Honda Dealership in London, Ontario, Canada. We just tricked out a nice blue number with the Honda "Car Buff" package which includes the sport muffler. Here's a shot of it on the car. Makes a cool growl! (Like an angry hampster!)
Sorry folks. I'm still a forum nerd and can't figure out how to post the pics I've got. As far as the sound goes, I certaily wouldn't call it a rumble. It's a much throatier note, but not really loud. It just changes the sound from an obvious subcompact sound to a genuine tuner sound. Sounds like the old civics. I'll be back with more shots when I can. Enjoy!
We have actually talked about this, so you can search. However the sport muffler is only for the mt because of possible noise violations in some states if it was installed on the auto. It will however fit the auto and if you live in a state with noise laws you take the risk of violating them.
This makes no sense to me. In a manual your motor is reved up alot more often than in an autobox. Expecialy if you attempt to drive fast. Where the automatic falls off the revs to the highest possible gear automaticaly if you want to cruise at 50 in 4th you can. Making more noise. Either way i highly doubt the factory exhaust is going to be illegal loud anyway.

I work for Honda and this is the reason theygave us at the ride and drive. It is simply a decible issue.

wouldn't it be quiter on a auto?
with all the power loss due to the tranny, you would think it would be much quieter.
No, because of how the Automatic Trans keeps you in the "Loud" RPM Range.
