Well if it means anything to you, on eBay I saw a couple short ram intakes from some no name companies for about $40 plus $20 for shipping. Had all the plugs and everything that you'd need but they're really rather short and looks to get quite a bit of hot air. But the sound would definitely be louder...

As what you post on 5/13/07 at 3:27 AM[I DONT WANT TO SPEND HELLA BANK OF MONEY ON HEADERS OR CATBACK EXHAUST]If you will just install k&n drop in air filter theres not that much improvement on the sound not unless you change your exhaust to catback or you switch to a quality axleback like SPOON or TANABE,its about intake and exhaust, not only INTAKE,and since you dont want to spend more than $ 100 bucks for SRI nor CAI ,you think you can get the sound that you want?i do suggest try your K&N drop in air filter so you hear it for yourself, but base on my own experience YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!!!!,when it comes to mods,

just check around the boards and vendor deals.

Short ram = better throttle response
Cold Air = more top end power
Drop in filter = slight increase all around but not as much on either end as another intake.

Not sure about the Spoon Filters and how they stack up against a K&N.

i just put an hfp on my car the other day and i really like the sound, but since its an auto when i go up hills or load up the car it shifts like crazy, maybe i have to let the car get used to the extra flow. i also dont care for how low it is

Not sure who makes it- but the box does say "Made in Japan"!!! I wonder who Honda outsourced for it? Maybe Spoon

i installed my hfp muffler yesterday went for a 16 mile drive stopped to get gas and my fit smelled like it was on fire. a real bad metal smell so i went around back and the muffler was smoking and i was like wtf. i reached down and it was so hot you couldn't touch it i wonder if i got a bad one and its stopped up? i took it off in the parking lot and yes it was installed right i'm taking it back tommorow
