by the look of it, piping diameter is the same as stock. the muffler itself should be more free flowing but probably not the same "gain" that you would/could get from any other axle back.

i hear the Apexi World Sport 2 is a MUCH better axleback
(points at sig)

I don't own one, but I wouldn't consider buying it. If you look at it installed, it hangs way too low. You can see a lot of canister.

I personally like the look of the Megan axleback, the twin pipes look nice.

Just my two cents. Do whatever makes you happy.

the sound is good i think. from being use to loud exhaust its a good muffler i think.

Apexi World Sport is a better alternative, and if you can cough up the dough they want for the HFP muffler, you'd be better off coughing if up for the WS. Like mentioned above, it's "free flowing" but by OEM standards, not aftermarket standards like Apexi. Just my opinion!

correct me if i may be wrong but, since the hfp exhaust diameter is 1.75" or something like stock. idk but can't you always cut it inner diameter and increase it by 2.5" >?

you can increase the piping diameter but the inlet to the muffler body will still be 1.75"

the HFP muffler is really not worth it IMO - just more noise. try removing the stock axleback and driving around like that for a while, it's not as loud as you might think.

i got mine handed down to me and i enjoy mine mainly because of the low noise and it sounds sweet with the T1R intake.

by looking at how much it costs, id suggest going with an aftermarket exhaust which can give you much better gains. it would be more worth it to save up a little more.

you should look into buying a used aftermarket exhaust on the classifieds thread. theres good deals lying around.

it sounds the exact same as people who have removed the muffler completely and the same as people who have custom fit the ep3 exhaust imo. i loved mine too cuz im paranoid about getting pulled over for exhaust

a b-pipe will make your exhaust note louder, a header will make it throatier, a test pipe will also make your exhaust louder.

from my experience, a test pipe + b-pipe and any aftermarket exhaust will give you the rasp that most hondas are known for. i personally don't like it, others do

Have you compared the HFP to having no muffler? I've had the Megan axle-back and now I'm running a straight pipe in place of the muffler. It's loud, but on par with the Megan. I just can't picture the HFP being as loud as no muffler...
