Injundon will become famous soon enough
well 4 years being a sound off judge and 6 years installing and having owned and been many cars reaching over 150db's and still having near perfect hearing.

120 DB's in an open environment. is downright painful (i.e outdoor concert near the speakers) in a car it's easily tolerable. I'm sure you can find a bit of info by googling this or visiting other audio forums. I'm way too busy these days to look up fact sheets at this time.

129db is a tease

In it's glory days, my daily driver would exceed 140db on music and 145db on burps

Here is a little chart to give an idea how loud that is:

You have to be careful when comparing different db ratings as there are a few differently weighted scales to use. What kind of meter was he using, I personally use the Termlab software that is used across the world for stereo competitions, Termpro, db drag racing, spl meter, spl car audio, loudspeaker systems, wayne harris

here is my previous setup's peak when I first started out, mind you this is 4 15" subwoofers, 6000 actual watts ( measured via a clamp meter and a DMM ) and a full blow through in my old nissan truck
