Hi everyone! So I am a first time Honda owner. I bought the car from a rural dealership in Baton Rouge ,Louisiana but live 1.5 hours away in New Orleans. I have a few months on my limited warranty but the service tech has already had to reinstall new brakes and said "there is nothing wrong with the car" but I doubt that....

The Problem: So when I start the car after not driving for more than 5 hours or so...maybe when I am at work or at home overnight, I push start and hear and loud grunt sound at the initial start of the engine, then it immediately goes away and doesn't come back. I also get the "temperature" icon coming on when this happens, just for a few blocks when I drive it. Has anyone experienced something similar? Do you know the cause? Thank you for your time.

Also I tried loading a video with the sound but it was too large, after work today i will see if I can make a smaller file, just audio and post it.

Temperature icon should come on " blue " when first cranked cold. Will go out when engine heats up. That is normal.

our GK does it too. don't worry about it. it sounds terrible though.

 

I'm up to 68,000 miles. Mines doing it more and more. I cringe each time, but not supposed to hurt anything.
