I haven't even purchased my fit yet, so I can't see for myself, but I like to plan ahead.
See, my dilemma is that I don't want to give up valuable storage space for a subwoofer, so I'm trying to find a way to get some really nice midbass. I'm getting Alpine Type X 6.5" components for the front and I was going to go with some 6.5" coaxials for the back, but if I can fit 6x9s I'd be much happier. I'll be powering them all with a 4 channel amp giving about 70 watts RMS
I'm sure you could do it but it would require some modification and fabrication of custom speaker pods. They might stick out a lot too. The back speakers are just 6.5's.

would it at all be possible for you to take a picture of them for me?
if you'll be running type-X components up front, it will be hard to mach them in the rear. If you just want to increase your bass output some type_R's would work well,

I'm a big SQ kind of guy. I listen to rock and alternative for the most part. I love a crisp, clean acoustic guitar. As far as bass goes, I usually set up my systems with a _ _ - setup, like +4 +4 +6. I like good treble.
Have you heard the Soundsplinter RL-i's? Their RL-p had excellent SQ and put out some serious bass when needed. Do you think the Inf. Perf.'s would be around the same quality? I'm contemplating one of those Infiniti Perfect's in a 12x12x12 box with quick connectors so i can take it in and out whenever i need to load up the back.

For a subwoofer reccomendation an Infinity Perfect VQ 10" in a 1 cu.ft enclosure would give you all the kickdrum snap you can handle and still go low enough to handle just about anything. (with the mid Q plug). If your big SQ guy get a good amp that makes 4X100Wrmsor more. and just run the front components and the subwoofer and skip on rear speakers entirely.

I believe the only inf kap perfs I saw were 4 ohm and dvc 4 ohm, I'd get the 4 ohm and run it parallel at 450w, which isn't a LOT of headroom, but I'm sure it'll sound fine, while my alpines up front(I think I might save up and get the SPX-17pro) would be getting the beautiful 350w each.
I take it you're not a rear fill man? Would you, then, leave the rear speakers plugged into the head unit(I think I'm keeping the stock HU and getting a 3sixty so I doubt I can turn off the amp in the stock HU anyways) and have front fade so that the rear speakers only produce a slightly hear-able volume?

as for the nine.5 they are decent middle end amps the 4ch section is class a/b the mono section is a seperate class D amp. If your illing to save for the SPR 17 pro's why not dive into some Focal 165KP's? Which is a better speaker set. the nine.5 is more than adequate power at 100Wrms/ channel. Bridging it to the fronts alone will create stereo seperation issues and could add some crosstalk.

Well, first off, I can get the SPR17 pros for under 350, and I can't get the focal's cheaper than 500, and secondly I've always disliked the harsh, tinny tweeters(imo) of focal component systems. I've never heard the 165kps, but the 165 v2s(polyglass) I heard I didn't like much because of the reasons listed above. The SPR17 Pros have an incredible tweeter that has a lot of warmth to it but retains it's crispness, I really, really like it. I guess you're right about the bridging, that could suck.
Do you know of any good 3-channel amps? Really and truly, $350 for what the nine.5 does is a hell of a deal, I should probably just stick with it, but do you know of any 3 channel amps in the same price range that might perform better?
