Thumbs up Deciding on a sub vote

Hey Guys,

I need some help deciding on a sub. I'm looking for a powered sub that's small but also gives the most thump.

I have it down to these 3:

Alpine PLT-5 LAT Subwoofer
Alpine PLT-5 LAT Subwoofer System Powered truck-style subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

Bazooka BTA10200
Bazooka BTA10200 BT Series 200-watt powered 10" bass tube at Crutchfield.com

Infinity Basslink (i was looking at the Basslink 2 but it shows discontinued?)
Infinity Basslink Powered Subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

I'm leaning towards the Alpine but i haven't seen anyone on here with it installed so i'm unsure of the fitment.

I'm also looking for the ability to disconnect the sub if needed to get back trunk space.

As long as the entire sub setup is under $1k i'm fine.

Go Clarion, new model is out... apparently has excellent clean quality in addition to a nice deep sound.

Specs look REALLY good as well, this is at the head of the line as far as powered subs go.
Runs a dual voice coil on a 2x28w RMS amp (56w RMS/120w peak), looks like a lot of R&D went into the design and I would almost put money down that it is going to surprise a lot of people.

Would it have to be a powered sub? Cause I mean, mount the amp on the sub box and you basically have the same thing.
$1k to spend Could outfit your fit with new speakers, deck, amps and sub(s) lol. Anyways, out of those 3 I'd say the alpine. I know a few ppl on here have the basslink though and like it also.

So, so true. But for our friend who isn't considering that, the Alpine enclosure should sound the best.

For Crucio's benefit, check out below in my signature:

The biggest difference is in tonality. Quality and low frequency extension and JL seems to have that race won. Other subwoofers or in some cases by comparison, bass speakers have no problem bumpin'. It's just that some in comparison I like to say sound like a 2x4 hitting a cinder block.
