Question QUESTION: Front & Rear Anti-Sway Bar

DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT ANY "FRONT & REAR ANTI SWAY BAR" KIT FOR THE FIT?

HI EVERYBODY,
ok, i already done over 1k miles with my FIT in the first 2 weeks, and as i already said in the other Topic, i don't like the Rear Body Waggling on the quick lane changes.

As some of you guys suggested me, i want to buy and install at the first service, the Anti-Sway Bar (or Torsion Bar or Anti-Roll Bar... what ever you wanna call it)... i wanted to know if there is also a Front Sway Bar for the Honda Fit, and i wanted to know if you guys would suggest me any other brands other than Progress...

I mean, i found the Prgress Rear AntiSway Bar for the FIT, but i still can't find one for the front... does anybody know about a brand that makes both?
I keep finding front Strut Bar, but i don't think is worth it in this kind of car... i don't need to go around a Race Track with this car... i just want for it to be stable in emergencies situation... can anyone help with any suggestion?

Why do you suppose adding oversteer will make the back end more stable? Maybe its the soft springs and shocks.

HI Mahout,
no, i don't want to add Oversteer, the problem is the fishtailing of the car when i make quick manouvers that i don't like, which it would end up in oversteer in 2 quick turns...

I have been told that if i install this Anti-Sway Bars, it will avoid that Tail Swing that the FIT has when stock... that's why i am loking into these Sway bars, but if i add it to the back, why not adding it to the front too?
So, that's why i am looking for both...
Thank's again for any suggestions...

may be spoon or mugen? im sure you can find info using the search feature on the top right of the page. ive never had any problems with the fit and feeling like im going to lose control, ive even whipped it around and done a 180 making a abrupt uturn when following somebody who was driving like an ass...i felt in control and completely safe during the whole thing. even driving through dc in traffic and going in and out of cars, never felt "unsafe" or that i would lose control. ive had to swerve left to right going 50mph to avoid things in the road too...never had a problem and as far as suspension and strut bars, i have none and over 15k miles on the fit.

but for your question, im pretty sure spoon makes a front sway bar, not sure if they make a rear.

HELLO KANCERR
I travel a lot expetially on highways, my traveling speeds varies between 70 to 80mph, and at that speed, the rear end of the FIT swings left and right in a non-nice way that i would like to eliminate.
Up until now, everybody told me that installing the Rear Sway Bar will fix this problem, infact many people already installed it and they are happy with the better handling result.
Now, since i am doing this job at the rear, why not doing it in the front too?

I looked for Mugen Sway Bars, but they make only a front Strut Bar for the FIT, no Sway bars... i don't think a strut bar is that much needed in this kind of car since i won't be doing corners at 60mph with a kinda minivan micro car, but i want it to be stable if necessary.

So, if there is any particular suggestion about how to increase handling without spending a ton of money, i would like the suggestion... this idea of the Sway bars sounds pretty nice, and i am going for it, i would just like to do Back and Front at once if possible...

A front anti-sway bar is already on your Fit. By adding the Progress Rear Anti-Sway Bar, you will get the improved handling you want, and it will cost you under $150.00. New Edge Performance is a very good Progress dealer, with low prices and fast service.

The only thing that you can do with the front is to replace the stock sway bar with a larger, stiffer after-market bar. Installation of the replacement front bar is difficult and expensive. IMO, replacing the front while adding the rear bar will just bring you back to the handling that you have now.

HELLO Manxman,
wow, this is an interesting thing, i didn't know the FIT already had a Front Anti-Sway Bar stock... then you are right, is not worth to change it, i will just add the rear and keep the stock front...
Thank you very very much for this info, it has been extremely useful it will save me some money then
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH

You are very welcome. This information can be found in several threads in the archives of the forums, but it would take quite a bit of searching. So far, I do not remember anyone posting that they had installed both the Progress rear bar AND a stiffer, replacement front bar with good results. Merely adding the rear bar has produced overwhelming good results. Almost 100% of the Progress bar owners consider it to be a great, and inexpensive, improvement over the already good stock handling.

Again Thank You Manxman,
i will save quite a few money with your info's... aldo i have to say, it didn't feel too much like there was an AntiSway bar in the Front, at this point... maybe i will start thinking about stiffening the front with a Front Strut Bar... i will think about that; for now, i will just go with the Rear Sway Bar and see what kind of result i will obtain... hopefully, it will be enaugh to satisfy my needs
Thank's again for your help
