Being done by RIPS in New Zealand. Some other juicy discussion too.

We believe this is the largest capacity RB ever built, a genuine 3315cc based on a RB30 with a slight bore increase and the rest made up of extra stroke.
The enigne is being built for a customer who wants a 1 of a kind with huge torque and drivability, it will have a custom RIPS 4wd RB30 block with CNC billet mains and the strongest bottom end kit we do (over 60 fastners in the bottom end alone) custom billit crankshaft, custom billet rods, custom pistons, hand made RIPS stainless exhaust manifolds, twin 3037s, twin 48mm wastegates, 1400cc injectors, custom RIPS intake plenim, 90mm billet throttle body, extensive headwork starting with a brand new head with all new Tomei components.
We are looking for a real torquie, drivable, 900-1000hp/8000-8500rpm at around 1.8 bar for a street GTR.
Every single ring is gapped by hand to within 0.00025"
CNC billet main caps
Block after many hours of preperation ready to begin assembly
I'm also doing a RB33 with a bigger bore rather than extra stroke and later on a RB35-36 with extra bore and stroke so at least I'll get to test them myself.
Next update:
Custom billet crank:
Billet mains caps with just the start of some of the fastners:
We are not building the motor for massive power, its just to do something different and to have alot of torque and drivability with around 800-900hp.
The exhaust will be twin 3inch going to a single 4 or 5 inch I think.
I'd say she should be very healthy by 4000-4500rpm and have a very strong 4000rpm power band which is perfect for a street car.
Shanef, no the block is not filled at all, its a street engine that will run a full normal cooling system.
Update:
Here's the block brace / 4wd adapter and some more of the fastners:
Some more progress, the bottom end is now complete:
The custom high capacity 4wd sump is also finished and on, pix of that shortly,
Its been a busy week, time for a beer or 10, sump is on, ready for the head next week, then custom high mount manifolds, twin 3037s with twin 48mm wastegates.
Quote:
A bit slow this week with other jobs on but the head is now on and the turbo kit can go on next:
Exhaust side all finished, what a bloody jig saw puzzle!!! Tight fit but its all in there and will be fine, can't wait to hear what it sounds like, should be real deep and throaty.
Full length street Tomei valve guides and a bit of porting:
Beginning of the puzzle, RIPS bespoke exhaust manifolds:
A couple of hours later:
Motor on the left is a 700hp RB30 with a TO4z to give you an idea of the size, the motor on the right is a RB33 with twin 3037s and twin 48mm Progates:
this is mine with 3037s. full trust 2.7 willal racing spec head 1300hp and hypertune 90mm single inlet manifold. We are around a month away from completion.
