Thumbs down Help me change the horn

My 2007 Fit has a puny sort of horn. I've bought a new "Bad Boy" horn, only to look under the hood, and can't find the present horn. I understand from the forum, the front bumper has to come off to do this. Can anyone provide some easy tips on doing this? I've been close to accidents too many times, and need to get noticed when in these situations.
Thanks

Was it a success?

Did you end up being able to install the bad boy horn? I have an '07 and am displeased with my horn too.

I don't think the bumper has to come off. I saw my horn when I did the A/C condensor project. Remove the top plastic cover, the one sitting under the hood just in front of the raditor. The horn is under that area. Removing the bumper would be silly, if you don't have to.

i actually replaced my horn today by removing my passenger side fog light assembly and accessing the horn from there. it's really a quick change over.

if you have the fit sport version, it's just 1 bolt to remove to disconnect the fog light from the bumper, then disconnect the fog light itself and you can reach in there and get to the horn.

fyi, it's a tight space, so make sure you have the correct tools. otherwise you'll have to access it as well through the passenger side wheel well.

mine just sounds a bit deeper now... and my wife's civic gets my old horn ftw!

^^^ Impressive . . . yeah, there wouldn't be much room to work going through the foglight hole. For a straight changeover, it would probably work. For a bigger install like mine (wiring, relay, 2 horns, etc.) I think you definitely need to pull the bumper. Luckily it's not hard at all - took me 15 minutes my first time doing it.

On a GE, this is the case. For 07-08, the horn isn't as easily accessible.

Installed my Hella Supertones yestereday, I had to pull the bumper on my GD. I painted the grills on them black, so they're hard to see but I'll get some pictures when I can.
