oh and I am getting 45 mpg!
You might have better luck asking this in the wheel/tire subforum. Anyway, I replaced mine after suffering a flat early on (and wasn't able to find stockers anywhere at the time, even through the dealership). I took advantage of a Costco sale and got a set of BF Goodrich Traction T/A V 195/55R15 tires. I hated the stock Dunlops (they're worse than any stock tire I've ever driven on), and these were an inexpensive upgrade that changed the grip/cornering characteristics of the car. Nice daily driver tires, too. Virtually zero wear so far, they're quiet, and are very reliable on wet and dry roads. And going through Costco means free rotations and nitrogen inflations for the life of the set.

What are you USDM Sport owners replacing the factory Dunlap 195/55-R15 H tires with?
Yes I searched and posted in that area but just wanted a hit in this area that is more main stream
I replaced mine about 4 weeks ago at CostCo with
Michelin195/60HR15 88H
There was/is a Michelin deal running there that gives you a free CostCo $60 gift card. And yes CostCo gives free rotations and Nitrogen refills for the life of the tires.
They're a little "taller" which resulted in my speedometer/odometer/tripmeter reading low by about 3%.
They ride so much nicer than the original tires and are QUIET.
Now that I can watch my true speed via GPS, I have been getting lower RPMs which also results in less engine buzz and probably some gas savings at highway speed.
I track my mpg meticulously, so now that I'm driving my formers speeds I can start to tell what the true impact will be on my gas mileage.

Mike I did post over there. Not much at all. Seemed to be more upgraded wheels and tires in that area.
Sorry, not sure how I missed that paragraph in your original post. Reading > me. LOL

Was the Nitrogen fill free at your Costco?
Yes, I have an 08 Sport, which came with the Dunlop SP31s. I actually found their grip to be really lacking. The BFGs fixed that. In fairness, the SP31s will get you from point A to point B in comfort, but driven more spiritedly, they reveal their limitations quickly. For the Sport, I wish Honda would have selected better tires, but on the flipside, this gives drivers their choice in the aftermarket, keeping base costs down.
And yes, nitrogen fills and rotations come free with tire purchases at Costco.

Nitto NeoGen 205/40x17 on enkei 17x7/42 alloys straight from dealer because they were inexpensive and had good rep with some of the A/Xers here . Not for A/Xing ; for driving between A/X's where they ran Hoosiers.. The 195/55x15's are boxed.
Not dissappointed with the Nittos either.
Snip... My Dunlaps seem pretty good. Grip great and quiet. What ones did you have on yours? Is yours a 2008 Sport?
Well, this has not been my experience at all on my '08 Fit Sport. I found the Dunlop 195/55HR15 SP31 A/S tires were terrible in the wet, noisy and not very good on fast twisty roads. In fact, this is also the general opinion of 23 survey submissions submitted to Tire Rack, on this Dunlop. After 2500 miles of this non-sense I installed 16-inch HFP wheels and General Exclaim UHP 205/45ZR16 tires. The net result is this is the configuration the Fit Sport should have come with, from Honda, IMO.

I'll confirm based on lap times in the wet and dry compared to other tires we have on hand. So we can prove the SP31's are second rate. Tire Racks testing also confirms. (20th place out of 21 all season tires.)
However, I don't blame Honda. Less than 10% of Fit buyers could tell if the tire was good or not. Their standards are balancing, mpg, and wear, just like Honda's meeting customer demands. And although the replacement price is comparatively high they were probably bid lowest to Honda of qualified bidders.
Honda wisely leaves hipo tires to the buyer.
It's funny how opinions can differ so much on tires. I started with the stock 14" sp31's and decided to pick a cheap set of 14 inch integra wheels and throw some 195 50 14 Falken Ze912S on figuring it would be a slight upgrade since they're wider and they were ten times worse than the stock bicycle tires. Bad cornering, bad wet traction and the ABS on at every stop light with even a hint of a bump. Then I picked up a used set of sport wheels with SP 31's and think they're a pretty decent tire considering they're OEM. No problems in the rain, fairly decent ride and not bad in the corners with good feedback and fairly predictable traction limits. They're no Yokohama AVS but they're all season rubber.
I have less than ZERO performance needs. This is my Eco machine. If anyone has removed a set of the Sport tires off and they are close to new let me know. I'd buy a set if the price was right.

I wasn't paying attention to your sig or your contributions in the Eco Fit subforum, so I don't know why we're recommending performance tires. If anything, if there are stock replacements that are lighter and/or roll further during coasts, that's probably what you'd want!
