Odd "spring-like" sound when shifting to Reverse

Hi folks,

My 2015 Fit with only 16K Kms on it is often emitting a strange noise (1 second or so) when I shift into Reverse, from Park. I've seen other threads here regarding noises but mine doesn't really sound like a "grinding" noise as others have posted here.

Any idea what this could be?
Cheers!

Mine occasionally makes a "whining vacuum" type sound when putting it into Park. Lasts only a second.

UPDATE:

It not only occurs during Park to Reverse, but also noticed it today from Reverse to Drive.

Any ideas anyone?

Where does the sound seem to be coming from, inside the cabin (like around the shifter itself) or outside the car (actual transmission itself)??? I have no theory as to what it might be, but more info might help someone else help to figure out what's going on...

Hi Fuelish Thanks for piping in. You're absolutely correct, my description is much too vague.... here's more info: The sound appears to be coming from under the car, slightly ahead of the driver's sitting position. And... I think it may occur only when the engine is cold... not certain about this though. I'm now paying more attention. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
